The Veil: Reimagined

Chapter # 2

"I suspect you are hungry?"

Saori heard (Name)'s stomach rumbling. She took her to a shopping spree, Saori also invited Nanami but the blonde boy politely refused. (Name) decided it was a good chance to explore the foreign land of Japan.
(Name) embarrassed, covered her stomach, "no need to look so bashful, we've been walking more than three hours."

"Say, (Name), sushi or ramen?" Saori shifted her shopping bags in one hand and took out her phone.

(Name) contemplated her options, "how about both?"

"Good choice!"

"Wait, is that Satoru?" Saori pointed at the boy getting out of the escalator but he wasn't alone, a very pretty girl was attached to his side.

(Name) was a bit embarrassed by their first meeting, it has been the fault of her instincts as they were on haywire due to being in a new country together. She felt bad, but not as much to apologize to the boy.

"Hey, Satoru!" The black-haired girl called out to him, unfortunately he heard her and looked over at the duo.

He smiled from ear to ear, but as soon his eyes fell on her the smile vanished and was replaced by a smirk.

Satoru waved, approaching them, "I did not know you'll be here at this time of the day."
"Satoru, who are these girls?" the redhead who was clinging to his arm asked.

"They are my junior at school."

"Oh, it's nice to meet you." she held her hand out for them.

"It's nice to meet you as well." Saori said, "are you Satoru's girlfriend ?" the redhead turned as red as her hair at the blunt question.

"Yes."

"No,"

Saori looked taken aback and awkwardly looked between the supposed couple.

Gojo abruptly added, "Nah not yet, it's just our second date, we are not official yet."
Saori was not satisfied with his answer but decided not to say her concerns out loud, "well, enjoy your date, we will take our
leave."

"Yeah, have a nice day."

Saori and (Name) exited the restaurant, "that was delicious."

"I agree."

"I loved the steamed buns, Nanami missed out, he loves buns."

"We can always take some for him." (Name) suggested.

Saori's eyes sparkled, "you are right, I'll be back, stay here." she handed her bags to (Name) and turned back on her heels.

"What was that sound?" (Name) heard a shot, it came from not so far from where she was, Saori hasn't come back. (Name) looked around, her eyes landing on a tree. She hung the bags on one of its branches, "No one can tell shopping bags are hanging from this tree." she admired her work and ran towards the direction the sound came from.

She was soon standing in front of a jewelry store, "HAND OVER EVERYTHING YOU HAVE!!!" a man, who she assumed was a robber, was holding the girl she met hostage, she was scared as tears strained her face but Gojo was nowhere in sight.

The man was not alone, there were five of them.

"Let me go!" the strained voice of the girl uttered.
