She takes a hand full of pills & puts them in her mouth & picks up the glass of water.
Sarah comes in.
Sarah: Mum?! Mum! What the hell are you doing?!
Nana looks at her, Sarah sees the pills & the glass of water & the rosary beads wrapped around her hand.
-No! Don't you dare!
She runs over & forces Nana's mouth open, forcing her to spit out the pills.

In the village:
Sarah: Brenda! Janet! Loretta!
Brenda: Hey!
Janet: You ok?
Loretta: You look like you've seen a ghost love.
Sarah: Look, Mum is in a bit of a dark place right now & I'd like it if you could all go to afternoon tea tomorrow? It's all booked.
Janet: Yeah sure, thanks Sarah.
Loretta: I did have an appointment with this lovely young ma-
Brenda looks at her.
-I'm sure I could cancel.
Brenda: Count me in.
Sarah: Cheers, I'll text you all the details & stuff?
Brenda: Yeah, course.

In the Crimson's:
Jenny: Are you two coming with us?
Celine: Hm?
Freddie: Oh yeah, the annual Crimson cottage holiday.
Ace: We do this thing every year where we go to Dorset & celebrate the new year there.
Celine: Yeah, sure we'd be up for it, is it alright if I ask my mate Letitia to come? You'd like her Jenny, she's a right laugh.
Jenny: Yeah! Why not?! The more the merrier eh?
Celine: Cool.
She laughs.
In Maddie's flat:
Becca enters the flat.
Becca: You ok.
Maddie: No.
She cries.
Becca: What's up?
Maddie: Luca, he's escaped from prison.
Becca hugs her.
-I am so scared of what he might do, I barely slept last night because I was so scared that he'd break in & do something to me.
Becca: It's gonna be ok, there's police everywhere, he won't hurt you. Ok?
Becca pulls her away.
-Maddie, look at me ok?
Maddie looks at her, she sniffs.
-He. Won't. Hurt. You. Again.
Maddie nods.
In the Foster's:
Madison is staring in the mirror.
Madison: & Christmas was ruined once more!
She cries & falls to the floor.
-I can't do this anymore. I can't. Why me? Why do I have to put up with this.
She sighs.
-It's not fair.
She cries.

In the Taylor's:
Sarah comes in.
Lee: Hey.
Sarah: Where's mum?
Lee: Just having a lie down.
Sarah: Oh.
Lee: Sarah... sit down a sec will you?
Sarah: Ok?
Lee & Sarah sit down.
Lee: Mum had a bit of a funny turn earlier.
Sarah: What do you mean?
Lee: Remember what The Doctors told us?
Sarah: No.
Lee: When she begins to loose balance or stumble or has dizzy spells... it means that she's getting worse.
Sarah: Oh god.
Lee: She hasn't got long left Sarah, in fact I-I- I think it could be any day now.
Sarah gasps.
Sarah: No. No. NO!
She screams & cries, Lee hugs her, Nana appears at the top of the stairs, she covers her mouth as a tear drops from her eye, she goes back upstairs & goes into her room, she sits on the end of the bed & stares into the mirror.
Nana: It's your time now Joanie. It's your time now.
