Letitia: So, what are your plans on New Year's Eve?
Celine: We were all gonna go to Dorset, you up for coming?
Letitia: Better not, it's a very racist part of the world.
Jenny clenches her eyes.
Celine: Oh ok.
Letitia: I guess I'll just party on my own.
Celine: Are you sure?
Letitia: Yeah, I can maybe go out with Tina or that Blair your Sean's marrying.
Celine: Well, if your sure.
In Maddie's flat:
Maddie reads the note, she hears the microwave ding, she jumps.
Maddie: Pull yourself together Maddie.
She look at the note.

She gets up & takes a lighter & sets it on fire & puts it in the sink.
At afternoon tea:
Janet: Tell you what the smell of those scones have made me ravenous.
Loretta: Here're put some of these in your handbag.
She shoves a load of jam sachets into Brenda's bag.
Brenda: Ah!
Sarah: For gods sake will you two chill? Your gonna get us chucked out!
They laugh.
Nana: I tried to end my life last night.
Sarah looks at her.
Loretta: Um.
Nana: It's ok, I know your all speechless & don't know what to say to me about it but, what I do know is that I haven't got long left.
Sarah looks down, she bites her finger.

Letitia: You know what, I'm gonna go out tomorrow night & I'll come away with you for new year.
Celine: Oh ok cool! I'd join you but I'm gonna be packing tomorrow & I'll end up being a hot mess.

At afternoon tea:
Sarah sits down, she cries.

She passes her a cigarette.

Sarah takes it, Janet passes her a lighter, she lights it & inhales, she exhales.
Sarah: My family has fallen apart Janet & mum dying is only gonna tear a irreparable hole on what is an incredibly damaged family.
Janet: I know love.
She hugs her.
