The next morning in the moon nexus, Lepidolite wakes up and gets ready to start her day.

When she steps outside of her dorm, Claudia is standing directly outside.

Claudia: Good morning, Lepi!

Lepidolite: Good morning Claud... why are you standing there?

Claudia: Would you like some hot brown morning potion? I just made some!

Claudia held out her flask containing the drink.

Lepidolite: No thanks, I'm good. Did you need something?

Claudia: Do you know how to cook?

Lepidolite: Yeah, why?

Claudia: I have these pancakes I've been wanting to try making. They involve a bit of dark magic to make them impossibly fluffy. I can handle the dark magic part, but I'm not the best at cooking, so...

Lepidolite: You wanted my help?

Claudia: Yeah!

Lepidolite sighs.

Lepidolite: Fine, as long as I get first dibs on the pancakes when they're done.

Claudia: Thanks, Lepi! I really appreciate it!

Lepidolite: Why did you decide to make them, anyway?

Claudia: For Callum and Ezran, really. I'm working on ways to convince them to come with us without having to use force. Because Soren is perfectly fine stuffing them in sacks, but since they're our friends, I wanted to try this first.

Lepidolite: You're going to use good food to persuade them? That might actually work on Ezran, but I don't know about Callum.

Claudia: I can handle Callum. With Callum, I'm going to rely on something more powerful than good food.

Lepidolite already knew that Callum had a crush on Claudia, but she had never said anything. She'd wanted Claudia to figure it out herself.

Lepidolite (thinking): The truth is going to surface some time or another.
