We both headed out to the main entry room with ava, Oliver and their mother. I stood on the stairs a little nervous wanting to stay back and give everyone some space, Martin opened the door revealing A Strong brunette man with a bag over his shoulder he looked around the room seeming surprised.
"ahhh jack!" Ava smiled jumping on him and pulling him into a hug
"Ava? ohh my goodness look at you. your radiant." he cooes taking a look at her
"You haven't changed"
"Wish I could say the same for you, I might have stayed If I knew you'd get so beautiful" he smirked
"Hey, watch it married girl now jack"
"what! really?" he asked excitedly and she happily showed him her ring "Ohh my god! I'm so sorry I missed it, sweetheart. you'll have to tell me everything." He smiled "I take it this is the gentleman?"
"ahh yes, Oliver this is Jack jack, one of our dearest friends" ava introduced
"Pleasure" Oliver smiled shaking his hand
"Already?" he asked
"Yeah, a few months back now"
"I missed a process too. damn it" He sighed
"Ohh darling" their mother smiled pulling him into a tight hug
"Awww I missed you"
"We all missed you jack, you are practically my second son"
"I always was" he laughs
"Of course, you are still my darling"
after a little, while more of catching up and general chats it went quiet as his attention went to Thomas, there was clearly tension.
"Hi, Jack."
"Hi. I missed you man" He says pulling him tight into a hug
"I missed you too."
"So things have changed then?"
"Alot has changed. I- I'm sorry for not getting in touch earlier"
"It's alright tom. I wouldn't have listened if you did." he says "You didn't go through with it in the end?"
"No. I should have told you but it's been a rough few decades."
"Understandable. even if you told me then I wouldn't have come back... I do regret what I said looking back now."
"It's okay. you needed to say it. you needed to go. I just wasn't smart enough to listen"
"I like what you've done with the place" He chuckled
"You haven't seen the rest of it yet" ava laughed
"Never thought your stubborn ass would change this place for anything, let alone all these... renovations"
"Well, they all come from the mind of my sweet bride to be" He smiled turning to see me still on the stairs he smiled taking my hand softly and leading me down to the entryway rug
"The bride-to-be?" He asked seeming surprised "Human?"
"Yes" I blushed
"you two?"
"Engaged. due to be married next month"
"next month! well, congratulations. Jack jack, pleasure to meet you uhh"
"Y/n" I smiled "Pleasure to meet you too"
"Well come on then show me around the newly renovated house" he laughs
"House and grounds" His mother added
"Ohh I'm excited."
