You got to Hilda's house about ten minutes after five pm. You clutched the present you had wrapped in golden paper close to your chest. It wasn't a big present, for sure, but you hoped your intended recipient would love it.
When Lorenz had recommended a secret Santa, everyone in the Golden Deer house was surprised that Hilda wasn't the one to come up with that idea. All of your classmates quickly got on board with the idea. You were a bit more apprehensive about the prospect of gift giving. Yet the guise of anonymity was perfect for you.
You knocked on the door to Hildas house. A few seconds later, Hilda showed up at the door. Slightly drunk, you could tell.
"Oh heyyyyyy Y/N! Oh goodness it's cold out, come inside!" Hilda grabbed your hand and literally dragged you inside before abruptly stopping, causing you to bump in to her back.
"Wait, you have your present! Lemme take it and put it in the room with all the other presents so no one knows that one's yours. The party's in the living room just down that way," she took your present with her right hand and pointed down the hallway with her left. You nodded and thanked her as she left to put the present in another room.
You followed her directions and walked down the hallway she pointed down. Hearing the noise of all your classmates, you knew tonight was going to be a night. That's a Golden Deer guarantee.
You knew none of your classmates besides Raphael maybe could cook so you were relieved to see the bags of DoorDashed food on the table. There were some open bottles of alcohol and juice, some water, and some soda with some plastic cups near them. There were some paper plates to grab some pizza, wings, chips, or whatever tickles your fancy and some paper napkins to make sure there wasn't a mess all over both your friends and Hildas floor.
Knowing Raphael and Leonie though, there was going to be a mess no matter what happens.
Lysithea, seated next to Marianne, noticed you first.
"Hey Y/N! Glad to see you could make it!" She waved you over to sit on her left side so you did. The blue haired sweetheart sitting on her right gave you a wave and a soft smile. Sitting on the couch next to her, you relaxed into the sofa. Hildas couches are so soft. Lysithea moved the blanket around herself and Marianne to fall over your lap as well. The white haired young lady was munching on a cookie while Marianne was sipping on some water.
On the couch next to her was Ignatz. Marianne was resting her head on his shoulder as he was doodling something on his sketchpad. If you looked close enough, you would see that he's drawing her, surrounded by birds and other small animals. He almost made her look like a Disney Princess. You knew they both have crushes on each other but are too shy to say anything to progress their relationship.
On the floor were Leonie, Raphael, Lorenz and Claude who seemed caught up in a game of Uno. You observed each of their hands. Raphael seemed to be losing, holding at least half the deck in his hand and looking frustrated. Lorenz was in third, not by much, but still had the audacity to laugh at Raphael who flicked him on the forehead. Leonie was in second, admonishing Lorenz for making fun of Raphael and putting down a draw 2. Lorenz saw that and groaned loudly. The tables reversed and Raphael got his turn to laugh at the purple haired prick who sulked. Claude was in a very distant first place with three cards in his hand. He had a smile on his face but his eyes were gleaming maliciously. He has a scheme in mind, you could tell.
