Modern-setting AU with Dorothea x Male! Reader where the two of them are on a road-trip and reader has a Polaroid camera to take photos of the trip and Dorothea.

Multiple pairs of clothes? Check.

Travel snacks? Check. 

Swimsuits, towels, sunscreen? Check. 

Bottles of water and other beverages? Check. 

Polaroid camera with extra film? Check.

Gas in the tank? Check. 

Everything was ready to go! 

You and your girlfriend of six months were going on a road trip down the coast. You had this planned for a few weeks. The two of you finally had taken the time off work to spend together and you could tell Dorothea was just buzzing with excitement. You were just as excited, absolutely rearing to go! You both had your licenses so you agreed that when the person who was driving gets tired, you'd switch drivers. 

The road trip was going to last a few days, at least four, going down along the coast where you could go swimming. It was the beginning of summer and the days were heating up. You'd be stopping in some nature reserves, some historical towns, you'll be seeing a traveling show in one of them. It was going to be such a great trip and you couldn't wait to go. 

Bernadetta had offered to house sit while you were gone. Your cats really like her and she wanted to escape her own house for a bit. You promised to pay her when you got back but all she wanted was to hang out with your cats. You let her stay in a spare room and stocked your fridge and pantry with things you knew she liked. She had gotten here fifteen minutes ago. Your girlfriend was still in the house getting the last few things she needs. 

Eventually she stepped out and hugged you from behind. 

"Ready to go, darling?" Dorothea planted a soft kiss on your left cheek. You replied with a hum. 

It's time. 

You open the passenger side door to let Dorothea in. Chivalry is not dead in 2023. Your girlfriend giggled and entered the car. You closed the door after her and walked to the drivers side. You put the keys in the ignition and got ready to drive to your first destination. 

Since Dorothea was in the passenger side, she had full control of the aux cord. Luckily her taste in music is absolutely exquisite. You two were loudly but very beautifully singing along to Queen and David Bowie songs. Dorothea even harmonized with you in certain places. You both have a shared adoration for the others voice. Your low voice and hers make for amazing Musical Theatre style duets. 

It took a few hours but you made it to your first destination around 7 pm at night. You started driving at around 1 pm. You landed in a historical town, well known for its amazing food and architecture from hundreds of years ago. Most of the buildings in this town are preserved historical sites. Some were turned into restaurants, others into hotels, a few turned into homes. There were quite a number of museums made to show off the towns historical paintings, weapons, instruments and other such artifacts. Linhardt was a huge fan of this town.
