I'M BACK.
As I was thinking about writing I was like OOOH WRITE SOMETHING FOR BIG SISTER MERCIE.
But I have no plan.
Usually in my head I have some kind of outline.
Today? No.
Wish me luck.
Also, I need to remember this. Manuela teaches the Black Eagles, Hanneman teaches the Blue Lions, and Byleth teaches the Golden Deer.

You'll never find Annette too far from Mercedes.
The two have been best friends ever since enrolling in the Faerghus school of magic. Oh, Lorenz was there too. But he's not relevant here.
The blonde has always been a mystery to you. That's kind of a surprising fact. She's very open and vulnerable with her friends. You considered her a close friend and she considers the same of you. So why is she so mysterious?
The answer lies in what she tells you.
She had a brother who she left behind to go to school. However, that brother disappeared years ago. A man she says looks like her brother showed up at the academy a while ago. A strong swordsman named... Jeritza? Was it? Their hair colors are very similar yet his speech pattern is odd, putting it nicely. You're sure Felix and Caspar would love to spar with him. His mind only seems to be set on destroying Byleth in a duel to the death.
And there are rumors of a Death Knight wandering the monastery at night...
Getting Mercedes alone, first and foremost, was a struggle.
Usually she's in the dining hall or the cathedral. She's a very devout follower of the goddess. Her dedication is very admirable. Of course Seteth has also noticed her devotion to the teachings of Seiros and has commended her for it. She's a huge sweetie with a big heart and open arms for anyone who needs a hug.
You found her in the cathedral, praying.
There was choir practice going on in the background. It was almost hard to focus on the gorgeous surroundings with the occasional out of tune note ringing out significantly louder than the rest.
The mid day light reflected through the stained glass windows, adding a layer of color to the golden rays of the sun. You understood why this is a holy place. It looked like Sothis herself had blessed this place with calmness and serenity.
She was standing in front of the statue of the goddess. She almost looked as heavenly as Sothis herself. (A/N: I'm a huge fan of Mercedes okay??? Don't judge me)
Mercedes didn't hear you come in but she felt your eyes on her so she turned around.
"Oh, it's Y/N! Are you here to pray too?" She asked with a closed eye smile.
No, no you weren't. You were here for her. But you couldn't tell her that.
"Yes, would you mind if I joined you?" You asked back, hoping she'd say yes.
"Of course! The more the merrier," she turned back around to face the statue of the goddess. Her praying resumed as you moved to stand next to her.
You did not plan for this. You clasped your hands by your chest, lowering your chin and closing your eyes.
Uh...
Now what?
You weren't as devout of a follower as Mercie or Seteth but you weren't entirely opposed to the teachings of Sothis. In fact, you found something you agreed with. Taking care of and loving all people as your friends. It seems all students of the Officers Academy agreed with that particular participle.
