Kristen's POV:
We sat down on my bed, the silence was a little awkward this time. I tried to start: "Sooo, uhm.... what's the plan now?" "The plan with...?", he asked. "Us. This. All of it." I said, looking up at him, into his eyes. "Well, you're the engaged one here.... what are your thoughts?" His question... him saying out loud that I was engaged confirmed once more what I was about to confess: "I guess I failed. I spent the last decade trying to get over you, building this new life, trying to be happy again. I didn't wanna admit it, but now that you're back in my life..... I can't deny my feelings for you, but I know that might not be the case the other way around.... I mean you were the one who ultimately ended it so I guess it's more important to ask you about your thoughts..."
"I love you Kristen, I always will." He blurted out.
Even though these words coming from his lips were like music to my ears, my broken self was waiting for the "but".
But it didn't come.
He finally continued: "I really didn't expect this... that almost ten years later you would still have this effect on me. But I guess I'll never become immune to your beauty - both inside and out. So fuck it. I'm gonna say it. I want you back, Kristen."
