Chapter 23

°Harriet

Due to the experience on Thursday, my parents left me at home on Friday although I felt better in the morning. I spent the day talking to Bella via facetime who is still at home because of the flu.

I didn't tell her about the time I spent with Ethan and the notes because the last things I need is fight with my best friend.

It sucks that Bella is still sick because sitting alone in class is hell. Since Aiden avoids any normal conversation with me, I sit there in silence while painting my picture.

The school bell rings fortunately before I ram a pencil in my eyes because of boredom. I pack my things as fast as possible and run to the cafeteria.

Today I can choose between pasta salad with white bread and a funny looking ham or tomato soup.

Pasta salad it is!

I sit down at our usual spot and notice that I'm the first one here.

The next person that arrives is of course Fynn.

"Hey Harriet, where were you on Friday?"

"I was sick obviously."

He looks at me like he sees the stupidest person in this world.

"That was evident, but what did you have?" I look at him and raise one eyebrow.

What is he up to?

Even with all my inner alarm bells calling out Code Red, I still answer him.

"I felt dizzy and my stomach hurt a bit." I look at him with a challenging expression.

What is his secret intention behind his question?

"Oh, I hope you feel better now." He says and starts to eat his soup.

What the Fynn's home was that

I think his brother is a miracle cure for the disease Fynn-hates-Harriet-titis, because since me and Theo gotten best friends forever, as I promised him, Fynn has become bearable.

"Theo told me to ask if you have time tomorrow and want to go to the beach with us."

I swear he couldn't have asked that with less enthusiasm. I took advantage of that and put on my 100 Watt smile.

"But of course, that sounds great! When does our cute fun trip start?"

He gazes at me briefly with a dark look and then puts his attention back to his food.

"I'll pick him up from kindergarten after school, then we can go."

Because I don't have enough, I use this opportunity to my advantage as well.

"Sounds great, then I bring my beach stuff to school and we can pick him up together."

He yanks his head up so fast, that I'm surprised he didn't snap his neck in the process.

But before he can protest and tell me exactly what I already know, that this was not his intention, Aiden, Ethan, Dylan und Luke arrive at our table and let themselves fall onto their chairs.

"Excuse me, Bro, that you had to put up with Prince Harry alone," Aiden says "believe me, Art is hell without Bella."

I reach into my bra and then flip him off. Dylan starts laughing and Aiden gives me his death glare.

"Prince Harry, where are your manners?" Lucifer says and I take back any good thing I thought about his personality in the last 10 minutes.

Dylan, Ethan and I are talking about the trip on Friday.
