"I know someone from the team, isn't that cool Finny?" Theo asks excitedly.

"Yes, really cool." I say with sarcasm, which fortunately Theo doesn't recognize.

"Sunny is so nice and can sing so well. I wish she would sing for me all day. Can I have a playdate with her?"

I look at him shocked. Like really shocked. He wants to meet with Harriet? After like 5 minutes of talking?

Theo has always been a shy kid and rarely played with other children. But he has a brief conversation with Harriet and immediately can't get enough of her?

I recover from the shock and roll my eyes. That's the last thing I wanted.

"Why do you want this? Normally you don't play with others?"

"Yes, but Sunny is so sweet. I like her."

I lift him up and make my way to the sports field.

"I don't think that this is possible. I'm sorry Theo."

"Why?" His eyes are slowly filling with tears.

The thought that Theo says something about our situation to Harriet or even worse that she insists on an explanation why I don't interact with her, brings back painful flashbacks.

I look up at the sky to gather myself. I would consider myself as a strong person who doesn't let people boss him around but I would never refuse Theo anything and certainly would never make him sad on purpose.

"Please don't cry T, you can ask her if she has time for a playdate after the game. Ok?" I cuddle him and swipe the small tear away from his cheek.

"Thank you Finny." He cuddles me back and wipes his nose on my t-shirt.

We reach the field and I look around for Luke and Dylan.

The girls are slowly starting to prepare for the game.

Suddenly my left ear loses its hearing power because Theo screams like crazy.

"Sunny, Sunny, good luck." He says and waves to her.

"Thanks little one." He replies and throws him an air kiss.

I look at her with a raised eyebrow because that was far from necessary, she shrugs her shoulders and sends me a false smile.

I turn right and walk to the others who are already sitting on the grandstand.

"Hi Buddy, we haven't seen each other in a long time. Man, you've grown up." Says Dylan but Theo hides his face in my shoulder.

"T is a bit shy, don't take it personally." I say and sit down while placing Theo on my lap.

"Since when did you see him again? The last time you saw him was 2 years ago." Luke asks.

"Since he lives with me."

They both look at me like I committed a state crime.

"You talked to your parents? How long does he stay with you?"

"I didn't talked to them and he lives with me forever, now please stop asking questions."

Luke and Dylan look at each other with shock and confusion.

"Finny is now my daddy." T says suddenly and my soul almost left my body.

"T please don't say that, ok?"
