Chapter 17

We three sit on the red picnic blanket and eat a few strawberries.
After 20 minutes tag and 30 minutes of football and some rounds of UNO, I noticed how much energy small children have.
I'm really exhausted and Fynn looks like he's feeling the same way.
"When we arrive at the field, you will sit with Aiden T." Fynn says.
"No, don't leave me alone Finny." Says Theo and leaves his seat to sit on Fynn's lap.
"I'm going to play, I can't be with you." He responses and strokes Theo's back. "You will sit next to Aiden and watch me play. Doesn't that sound good?" Fynn tries to lighten his mood.
"No! Please don't leave me." Theo begs while holding onto Fynn's shirt and starts to sniffle softly. "You said you'll never leave me again."
Fynn sighs and presses him firmly against his chest and pets his head.
"I don't leave you. You're just waiting with Aiden until I finish the game. Then I will come and get you, T."
"No please Finny." He cries out.
"We can watch the game together, if you want Theo." I suggest.
He looks up at me with glassy eyes and nods slowly.
"Do you think you can cheer louder than me?" I ask to distract him from his current emotions.
He thinks for a while.
"Yes, much louder." He says with a shy smile but still has a death grip on Fynn's black Tommy Hilfiger shirt.
"Do you think you can clap louder, as well?"
He thinks again.
"Yes!" He returns, now with a wider smile.
Fynn mouths a thank and I dismiss it with a nod.
"Come on, we have to go and get the best seats, Itsy Bitsy."
Theo stops strangling Fynn's piece of cloth and stands up while accidently bumping his little ass against Fynn's face. Fynn grimaces and I need all energy the universe can give me to not laugh out loud.
Fynn gives me a glare and it gets even harder not to laugh.
"Finny is the captain of the team." Theo says proudly.
"Do you think he is so good that he should be captain?" I ask and look at Fynn with a challenging expression. Which he returns with a raised brow and a I'm-the-best expression.
"I don't know. I never was to a game before."
"I think he just pretends to be the best." I say to Theo and stick my tongue out at Fynn.
"Haha, Harriet says you are bad." Theo teases Fynn and pecks him in the belly.
I can't hold it anymore and finally start to laugh. Fynn gives me an annoyed glare, but his mouth twitches slightly upwards.
OMG, I managed to make him laugh!

I reach the parking lot in front of the sports field and park my car. To my surprise, Fynn decides to take the free space right next to me instead of using a spot far far away.
There's must be something in the air because he's clearly acting weird and that scares me a bit.
I'm an hour early that gives me enough time to cheer up Noah before his first game.
