Chapter 10
°Harriet
After the loud performance of my best friend, I turn to Ethan and regret that my mother persuaded me so easily to come along with her. In my defense I didn't know I would end up here.
He gives me an apologetic look but I don't buy it because he was the one who asked Bella to come to his house.
I make my way to her and notice that he is following me. Before we even reach his mother, Ethan starts talking.
"Mother, let me introduce you to Harriet. Harriet that is my mother Clara."
She looks at me with shinning eyes and takes me directly into her arms. I'm so surprised that I don't get to hug her back before she lets me go.
"Nice to meet you, Harriet. You look wonderful. Let me get you something to drink." She says and takes Ethan with her.
I look a little to the left and see Bella's annoyed facial expression and know that his mom has not given her this warm welcome.
"What are you doing here Harriet?" She asks very nonchalantly.
"Well, this is a neighborhood party so we got an Invitation."
"Nugget I really need your help. I want to impress Ethan, so that maybe something's going on between me and him at the end of the party. If you know what I mean." She says in a lower sexy tone. "Please help me." She continues with a pleading voice now.
What a dilemma.
On my right shoulder sits Fat Amy and says 'don't ruin your own chance bitch, just tell her no and make out with him in front of her'.
On my left shoulder sits Becca and says 'push your own crush aside and help your friend, because no guy should come between you and your friends'.
Holy hell I finally lose my mind now, my angle and devil are pitch perfect figures
Maybe you should stop watching the first movie 50 times per week
But it's too good, did you hear their final song?
Yeah, because I'm you and now stop thinking about the movie
I come back to reality and see Bella still looking at me.
"I help you, but I can't promise you that what I say will work."
Soon after, Ethan and his mom come back to us and she hands me glass of lemonade.
"Clara, could we talk over there about the food, I have a question because of my allergy."
"Of course, honey."
I give Bella a look which shows her that this is her chance to talk to Ethan alone. She nods her head briefly.
"I could help you if you want." Says Ethan but I wave my hand and signal that it is not necessary.
"Stay with Bella, she doesn't know anyone here and would certainly like to have some company." I say and follow Clara to the table with the food.
"I'm not allowed to eat tomatoes, what dishes include them?"
"Apart from the tomato sauce and the bruschetta, the rest is safe for you to eat." She says with a friendly smile.
"What would you recommend? What should I try first?" I ask to give Bella enough time with Ethan.
"My favorite are the small meatballs with a homemade sauce. They're called Kottbullar."
I take a plate and start filling it with the dish.
