Daylight had broken again. The bright twin sun painted the sky in a light orange as the day began. I shifted uncomfortably as I sat on the back of the Dewback.

I had my arms wrapped around Mando's waist again as we rode slowly along the sandy dunes. We had spent almost all night walking to find the Dewback and then the rest of the night was spent rising back. Dewback weren't the fastest creatures.

My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at the ridge where Toro and Fennec Shand should be. He wasn't there anymore.

The Dewback came to a stop in front of the ridge. Lying on the ground on her side was Fennec Shand. Toro had killed her. He had betrayed us.

I sighed heavily. "Dank Farrik."

Mando sighed and turned the Dewback around. We were heading back towards Mos Eisley again, and it would be a long ride back. I just hoped that he wouldn't do anything stupid like go for the kid.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I shifted uncomfortably, my legs and my butt had fallen asleep about 30 minutes ago. Night had fallen over Tatooine once again as we trekked across the sandy dunes. We had to get back to the crest, who knows what Toro had planned.
We had been riding all day and finally the buildings and lights of Mos Eisley had appeared in the distance. I resisted the urge to jump down off of the Dewback and run towards the city. I believed that I would make it there faster than the Dewback would.
The Dewback slowly trudged along the ground towards Mos Eisley. Once we arrived in front of the mechanics garage, I quickly swung my leg around and jumped off of the animal. I stretched and groaned as I attempted to get feeling back in my pained limbs.
Mando climbed down from the Dewback and stood beside me. He froze and quickly drew his blaster. I furrowed my brows at his tense posture. I pulled my blaster out and spun around on my heels. Parked in front of the mechanics garage was the speeder bike that Toro had rode.
My heart dropped as I realised that he might be here. He might have gone for the child.
Mando walked into the door first and I quickly followed after him. My heart was beating hard in my chest as I feared for the child.
Once we stepped into the hanger we're the razor crest was parked, I scanned the area. My eyes darted around the hanger in search of Toro or the child or even the mechanic. I held my breath as I looked around the dark area.
There was movement by the window of the mechanics office. Mando and I wiped our heads around and looked at the window, three heads quickly shot down. It was just the droids.
The two of us quietly walked over to the crest. I could feel the presence of the child, that familiar pull, he was in the crest. And he was scared.
Mando and I raised our blasters as the figure of a person began to make its way out of the dark hull of the crest. The mechanic came into view first, she shuffled down the ramp with fear in her eyes.
My eyes then landed on the child, he was being carried by Toro. He had a blaster aimed at the mechanics back as he forced her down the ramp.
"Looks like I'm calling the shots now. Huh, partner?" Toro said
I tightened my grip on my blaster as anger rose in my chest. We had tried to help him, and he turned on us so fast. I couldn't even pretend to be surprised.
"Drop the blasters and raise em'" Toro said
Mando lowered his blaster and tossed it on the ground In front of him. I sighed as I reluctantly did the same.
Mando and I both lifted our hands up. I placed both hands on my head and glared dangers at Toro.
"Cuff them." Toro ordered the mechanic.
The mechanic groaned in annoyance as she walked down the ramp towards them.
"You're a guild traitor, Mando, Celeste." Toro Said
The mechanic walked behind Mando to cuff him. "And I'm willing to beg that this here is the target you helped escape." Toro said while pointing his blaster at the child.
"You're smarter than you look." I faintly heard the mechanic whisper to Mando.
"Bringing the two of you in won't just make me
A member of the guild, it'll make me legendary." Toro said as he aimed his blaster at us
A bright light flashed to my left, I flinched hard and dropped my hands so I could cover my eyes. It took me a moment to come back to my senses. I opened my eyes, it took a moment for the white light to leave my vision.
A blaster shot went off and a thud followed it. Toro fell off of the ramp of the hull and collapsed onto the sandy ground. He was dead.
I quickly ran towards him, my only thought was making sure the child was safe. I heard footsteps hurrying behind me.
"Stay back." Mando said to the mechanic.
"You gotta get it." The mechanic said
Mando rolled over Toro's dead body and looked for the child, but he wasn't there. He was no longer with Toro, I glanced around in concern.
"Where is it?" The mechanic said
A cooing sound came from behind me, I spun on my heels and sighed in relief as I saw the child looking up at them from behind a box
"There you are." The mechanic said. "Are you hiding from us? Huh? Look at you." She walked over and scooped the child into her arms. "That's all right. I know. That was really loud for your big old ears, wasn't it?" The mechanic asked the child
I watched the child and the mechanic as I looked for any sign of injuries. The mandalorian came and stood next to me, he gently raised his arms towards the child and the mechanic began to pass him over.
"Be careful with him." The mechanic said
Mando took the child into his arms and looked down at him. "So, I take it you didn't get paid?" The mechanic asked them
Mando pulled out a pouch from his utility belt and tipped it upside down over the mechanic's hand. Several dozen credits fell out from the pouch.
"Will that cover me?" Mando asked her
"Yeah. Yes, this is gonna cover you." The mechanic said
Mando turned away and stepped up onto the ramp, he carried the child up towards the hull.
"All right, pit droids! Let's drag this outta here!" The droids chattered in confusion at the mechanic."I don't know, drag it to beggars canyon." She replied
"Thank you." I said to the woman, she smiled and nodded in return. I turned away and walked up the ramp of the crest.
The ramp closed behind me as I entered the ship and I let out a heavy sigh, that had been a long few days. Tired was an understatement for how I felt. Let's hope their next job doesn't go as badly as that one. But I've probably jinxed it now.
