Ray was finding it difficult to take his eyes off the attractive girl to his right. When he wasn't openly gaping at her, his thoughts tended to stray toward her, despite the internal war being waged in his brain. However, the struggle was not mutual, as (Y/n) had no trouble focusing on the lesson.
Though Ray had firmly told himself that it was enough to just be in her presence, a portion of him was growing irritable with her lack of attention to him. English class had turned into a battle of wills for the ravenette.
At last, he could take it no longer and tapped her arm with annoyance. The (h/c) girl looked up from her note-taking and stared at him with a hint of impatience.
The boy realized that he had nothing to say. His cheeks reddened slightly.
Grabbing a pen, he wrote on the corner of her paper 'Hey'.
(Y/n) was unimpressed. She waved away his efforts and resumed her notes.
Ray leaned back and sighed. Although spending time with the girl was great, it was no fun if he couldn't at least talk to her. He started hoping the teacher would assign a project that the two could do together. No such luck.
Just lecture after lecture after lecture, Ray thought. This teacher sucks. This class sucks. English sucks.
And then back to thinking about (Y/n).
Suddenly, an idea struck him, a ray of light shining through his boredom and annoyance. He took up the pen once more and wrote again on her paper.
When she realized what he was doing she threw up her hands and glared at him. When he paid her no mind, she glanced curiously at what he was writing. Blocked by his arm, however, she could not make out a word. Instead, the girl resigned herself to waiting.
When he, at last, pulled away, she read the following:
'Come to my house after school I need to whoop your dumbass in more shooter games.'
(Y/n) looked at him, considering. Ray noticed her hesitation and quickly added:
'I have lots of junk food'
She was sold.
'OK :D'
He smiled at her cute handwriting.
After that, he allowed her to resume her note-taking in peace, satisfied with the knowledge that his boredom would later be substantially compensated.

"Alright, wait for me after school," (Y/n) yelled as she jogged to her final class. Ray silently watched her leave.
When she arrived at her usual seat, the girl was surprised to see a white-haired male seated directly next to it. (Y/n) smiled at him and sat down, though wondering why he had chosen today to finally sit closer to her.
They had been partners in nearly every assignment, so much that it made sense he should sit nearer to her, but he had never moved his seat until now. (Y/n) couldn't help but be curious as to why now.
Mason returned her smile and immediately took out his earbuds. The girl wondered at the action.
"What's up with you today? You're acting weird..." She glared at him in suspicion.
Mason was taken-aback at her hostile mannerism.
"U-um, I-I don't know... a-am I?" He ducked his head.
"I guess it doesn't matter", (Y/n) sighed.
A lot of weird things are happening today, anyway...
