Alt Ending: And She Lived Happily Ever After

It was revealed that the footsteps had sounded strange to (Y/n)'s ear because multiple shoes were crunching on the gravel. Not one person appeared out of the darkness, but three. 

Scared, the girl stepped back, searching cautiously for the other two boys. 

"Surprised?" Leo questioned, his tone amused, but his face betraying nothing. "You shouldn't be."

"And why not?" (Y/n) asked distractedly, still looking around. 

"You gave away so many hints, (Y/n)", Brayden said. "It was hard not to guess what you were up to."

"What hints?" (Y/n) tried to stall for time, though she hadn't a clue what good it would do for her. 

"Stealing my car keys, for one. You really thought I wouldn't notice that? Come on, I know you're not stupid."

"Moving around the furniture, too", Mason chimed in. "I saw it all from outside your window, (Y/n). And to think I almost believed that I could trust you..." He broke off, shaking his head sorrowfully. 

"We all were beginning to think that", Leo reassured him. "But you just had to go escaping again." He pretentiously rolled his eyes at (Y/n). 

"I just want to be free", the girl hissed. "Why the hell can't you people understand that!? You thought I'd be fine with being locked up forever? Of course not! I have dreams! I want to travel and see different things! I have a home, a school, a mother... You took everything away from me and then you just expected me to stay put? How insulting is that?"

She took a deep breath, pausing in her rant. 

Let the negotiations begin. 

"If you let me leave now, maybe I won't tell the police about you guys. You'll still keep your power and your money. Forget about me. I'll never forgive you guys for what you did, but we can go our separate ways. Just let me walk away."

The three burst out laughing. Their voices rang out into the night, tinged with insanity and seasoned with malice. 

"Darling, our power and money are the very things that will keep the police at arm's length. You can't touch us."

"There is no 'going our separate ways' I'm afraid, angel. From the minute we set eyes on you, our paths were forever entwined. There is no escape. There is no forgetting."

"Maybe you're right. But I will never love any of you, so get that through your thick skulls", (Y/n) stated defiantly. 

"You don't need to", Leo said. "My love will be enough for the both of us, (N/n)."

Sick bastards.

"Where's Ray and Tobias?" Was all she could think to ask, voice choked by anger.

"Behind you, sweetheart", Tobias answered. She turned, startled, to find him and Ray sandwiching her between them and the others.

"Be a doll and come back to the house, huh?" The ravenette inched closer, one arm outstretched. 

All at once, he fell, clutching his stomach in agony. Red, red blood seeped from his wound onto his clothes and dripped steadily to the ground. (Y/n) was frozen, eyes locked on the sight before her. A familiar voice called her out of her shock.

"(Y/N), GET TO THE CAR!" 

It was Hannah. (Y/n) couldn't see her through the thick blackness, but she supposed the girl was close. She did as commanded, sprinting to her right in hopes of circling around Leo, Mason, and Brayden. They were the only things between her and the car.
