chapter 12~ Boba!

"After you", Leo grinned, holding the door for (Y/n) in a chivalrous manner. She accepted, walking through the door and gracing him with a light smile. The blonde's gesture would have been gentlemanly had she not felt his eyes staring at her from behind. When she glanced back at him, he quickly averted his eyes elsewhere.

(Y/n) gazed at the large menu ahead of her, wondering what to choose. The cashier waited patiently for her to decide, as the two companions were the only people present in the shop. The (e/c) eyed girl found this strange, as she had figured this would be the busiest time of day.

As the girl wondered between the strawberry and mango flavors, a small chime was heard, signaling another customer. She looked back distractedly at the newcomers. To her surprise, it was Ray and Tobias. 

"Huh? What are you guys doing here?"

"I could ask you the same thing, doll", Ray replied with a knowing smirk. His gaze darkened when he shifted his eyes to the blonde standing beside her. Leo was in shock, amazed they had figured out his plan so soon. He began to fume, outraged that his time with the girl was being stolen from him. 

"We asked first", Leo said, stubbornly. He cast a suspicious eye toward the pair. "And Tobias doesn't even like Boba." 

"Ah, well, I'll just ask that beautiful lady over there to whip me up something without Boba." The redhead winked flirtatiously at the cashier, who blushed at his smooth words.

"O-of course...!" She squeaked and nodded frantically to him. 

Tobias subtly checked (Y/n)'s reaction. She had become enamored by the menu once again to his disappointment and slight irritation. He scoffed and looked to the side. 

"One sec gotta make a quick phone call." Ray stepped back outside to take care of his business. 

"I've decided!" (Y/n) declared. Leo reddened at her cute action and fumbled with his wallet. 

"I-I'm ready too! What would y-you like, (Y-Y/n)...?"

"I'm just gonna play it safe and go with {favorite Boba drink flavor}", she declared, her mind dwelling sheepishly on the time she had spent trying to be adventurous in her choosing.

Leo nodded and paid for the drinks. They sat down at an empty table, of which they had many to decide, and proceeded to wait for their orders. 

They came fairly quickly, much to the teens' pleasure. (Y/n) stirred her straw to the bottom of the drink, greedily sucking up as many Boba pearls as possible. Leo sipped his less aggressively, his attention much more focused on the girl across from him, while Tobias enjoyed his plain tea. (Y/n) looked at him with an expression of disgust. 

Who doesn't like BOBA???

Tobias noticed her face, sadly worrying about what he had done to deserve such a look. 

Ray entered the building once more and walked straight up to the cashier. Before joining their table, he leaned in and whispered something (Y/n) could not quite catch. The lady stared after him for a moment, frozen, then rushed to the back without a word. 

"What was that about, Ray", the (h/c) haired girl questioned. 

"What was what about", he returned gruffly. She rolled her eyes. 

"Whatever you said to the lady over there!" 

"I don't know what you're talking about."

"YES, YOU DO!"

"Nope", he denied.

(Y/n) threw herself against the back of her chair in aggravation. She slumped, defeated.
