It was Tobias. A smirk was plastered on his face as he came into her field of vision.
(Y/n) did not waste any time chatting. She immediately turned tail and sprinted away, not knowing where it was she would go or what she would do.
"It's no use", Tobias called after her, patiently standing his ground.
She slowed to a jog, realizing this. If the redhead had seen her, he might have alerted the others. Not to mention, he was positioned between her and Brayden's car, making her escape impossible.
At this point, the girl had come to a dead stop. She stared straight ahead with a defeated posture. Tears of sorrow and acceptance filled her (e/c) eyes, but she quickly wiped them away, determined to retain her dignity.
"It was a good try", Tobias consoled, coming up behind her. "But you were never going to get away, sweetheart. You knew this..."
"How did you figure out I was leaving?" (Y/n) asked, not caring for the response.
"Hannah."
She spun to look at him, life flowing back into her figure from the strong emotion of betrayal.
"And why the hell would she tell you?", the girl spat.
He shrugged. "All it took was a little lie about how I wanted to help you guys... Honestly, I didn't think she would buy it, but... Well, you need to choose your friends more wisely, sweetheart."
"So, you tricked her." Relief flooded back into her with the knowledge that she had not been mislead.
"Yep, in the closet." He grinned playfully. "Remember when I was searching for her? I was gonna kill her, but then I thought, 'What a perfect opportunity to take (Y/n) away and kill the girl, all in one shot'! Aren't I clever?"
(Y/n) hugged her arms around herself, trying to still her quaking body in the night's chill. "Where is Hannah?"
"Dunno." Tobias continued to wear his stupid smirk.
"You do."
"You're right!" He laughed. "She's running a bit late. Maybe cause I told her the wrong spot. Oh, well, she's probably figured it out by now."
"Did you take the rope, too?" (Y/n) accused.
"What rope?", he asked, this time genuinely puzzled.
She dropped the question, distracted by the sudden lack of darkness. Lights had flickered on in the house, somewhat illuminating the dark. (Y/n) felt bare and unprotected as the brightness revealed her location.
"Listen closely", Tobias said, now serious. "I'm giving you a choice. You can either be caught by the others and me, remain here indefinitely, and face whatever consequences we pick, or... you can leave with me. We'll go to my home and live together...
"Forever."
The girl stared at him, torn, while her mind desperately searched for a third option. The redhead glanced at the house.
"Won't be long till they get here, sweetheart."
She was aware of her limited time. But how was she supposed to decide between two horrible options? Her face took on an expression of anguish. There really was no better choice. The answer was painfully obvious. She was sure Tobias had intentionally planned the situation to work to his advantage.
"I-" (Y/n) hesitated, looking back toward the house. The front doors were opening, three shadows darting across the lawn, making they're way to the girl.
