"Ray."
He turned towards the voice. "What is it, Mason-"
Suddenly, pain stabbed through his shoulder. The boy's hand rushed to cradle it and knocked against the knife handle that was sticking out of his flesh. The movement caused Ray to let out a grunt.
"Mason, what the fuck is-"
"Shut up!" The white-haired male strode forward and grabbed Ray's shirt. Although he was noticeably shorter than the wounded boy, he managed to look taller and sterner at that moment. Such was his rage that it eliminated all weakness in him.
"What did you do to (Y/n)?" He demanded, his voice shaking slightly, but fear was absent from it.
Ray didn't respond.
Mason took hold of the knife's wooden grip and dug it in further. Ray's mouth tightened as he tried not to scream. "I'll ask again. What did you do to (Y/n)?"
"Nothing", he replied through gritted teeth. "Now let go."
The normally gentle boy laughed loudly. In one swift motion, he yanked the knife from its place. This time, Ray really did scream. Blood poured freely out of his shoulder, dripping to the floor from the rip in his shirt.
"You really think that you're in a position to tell me what to do?? I could slit your throat right now..." He teased his blade along the ravenette's neck. He grinned suddenly. "I just love the color red~"
"M-Mason...?"
The boy sighed not turning his head. Still looking into Ray's eyes, he responded, "I told you to wait outside, darling."
"You also told me that you were just gonna talk to him." (Y/n) warily approached the two and tugged on Mason's arm, attempting to separate the two. The boy reluctantly let go. As soon as his hold was released, Ray groaned and slid to the floor. He took out his cell phone, managing to send a quick text.
"(Y/n), let's go", Mason said softly, returning to the quiet boy he had been before. He took her hand, but she pulled away. The rejected boy frowned. But he waited.
Brayden soon entered the room.
"Jesus Christ", he exclaimed, looking at the mess with wide eyes. "What's been going on??"
"I need you to check out my fucking shoulder. Make sure Mason didn't permanently damage it or something." The ravenette glared at the other boy, who just shrugged.
"Mason did this?" Brayden stared at the boy. It came as a shock to him that Mason could do something so aggressive.
"For (Y/n)", he stated shortly.
The bluenette's orbs darkened. "She's not hurt, is she?"
(Y/n) shook her head.
"Please help Ray", she whispered.
"Right." He began tending to the boy's wound, applying pressure with some gauze he had in his pocket. As he did this, Brayden worried over his companions' states of mind. Their slim ties to sanity were slowly coming undone. Brayden's was, too, but he was not aware of his own mental health.
If they keep this up, this could potentially end in our deaths, as well as (Y/n)'s, he thought. Regardless of what I do, this will come down to a winner takes all.
Brayden glanced into Ray's eyes. It was apparent that he had figured this out, too. He was staring back into Brayden's black eyes with surprising intensity.
When the boys had taken (Y/n), they had all acknowledged the fact that only one could have her. And, with their lives now on the table, they were all prepared to do whatever it took to have their prize.
