FUCK. WHERE'S THE ROPE!?
The first thing (Y/n) had done when she was sure Brayden had left was peek under the bed, expecting to see the coiled rope Hannah had promised to leave there.
Did she forget? No, how could she forget something as important as this? Maybe it's a signal? Maybe she got caught?
Perhaps Hannah was trying to let her know that it was too dangerous to try and leave that night, but (Y/n) could not spend another day at the estate. The boys' sanities were starting to bend and break. Who knew what would happen to her if she tried to wait a full day?
I have to leave, whether Hannah leaves with me or not.
She felt bad about having to leave her friend behind, but it could not be avoided.
I'll come back for her...
She got off the ground as another thought flashed through her mind. (Y/n) paced the room, her mental gears working madly.
What if something else had occurred here? What if someone had taken the rope from under the bed...?
She thought back to after breakfast, where all the boys had gathered in her bedroom. The girl hadn't seen anybody reach under the bed... however, she had been in the bathroom for some time. Had someone seen it then?
Maybe I shouldn't leave then if someone already knows...
No.
It has to be tonight.
She quickly strode over to the window, looking down at the ground below. It was relatively hard to see, as the sky had darkened a considerable amount, but, regardless, she attempted to measure the distance with her eyes.
Someone may have put two and two together, but I bet they thought they just took away my means of escape. Even if they're guarding my door, they would never guess that I'll still escape through the window.
She walked silently to the bed and began pulling the sheets off in rapid succession. The (h/c) haired girl sat on the bare mattress, getting to work on tying the sheets together.
It doesn't matter if it's long enough to reach the ground... I'll jump the rest of the way if I have to. Shouldn't be too big of a fall.
With her new and improvised 'rope', she approached her exit once more. As quietly as she could, she pried the window open, flinching as it creaked the slightest bit.
There. We're open.
She searched the ground as best she could, looking for any signs of the boys or Hannah. Seeing nothing, (Y/n) threw her makeshift rope out the window.
As she had thought, it did not quite reach the ground. She estimated a three-foot drop at most.
(Y/n) ran back to the bed, shoving and pulling it over to the window. The four poster would act as a perfect object to tie the bedsheets around. When it was finally close enough, the girl bent over panting. The urgency of the escape was making her heart race and sweat drip from her forehead. However, she continued her labor with no hesitation.
I'm getting the fuck out of here.
She tied the sheets to one of the posts in the most secure knot she knew. (Y/n) yanked at it, for good measure.
Once she was sure everything was in perfect order, the girl pulled the rope back into the room and closed the window three-quarters of the way. She didn't want it creaking when she opened it again.
Then, she waited. It was dark outside, but not enough to her satisfaction, yet. She would wait three more hours.
