Frisk walked forward while keeping their head up. While down the alley, Frisk looked around a bit. They noticed a pile of cans and stepped over it, and continued. After walking on a bit, there was a large noise behind them. Frisked whipped around, startled by the sudden noise, and their heart jumped in their chest.

Something had kicked the pile of cans. The cans were still moving around the alleyway. The sound of the metal rolling on the cement was nearly deafening in the quiet alleyway. Frisk backed up a bit and looked around wildly. There wasn't anyone there.

"This must be some kind of sick joke," Frisk said under their breath. They backed away a bit before turning again and hurried down the alleyway.

They heard another noise, footsteps. Frisk moved faster until they were nearly running. They almost made it to the end of the alleyway when they felt something grab them.

It wasn't physical. It wasn't a hand on them or anything, but something had grabbed their chest. Frisk looked down, but saw nothing at first. Then, they noticed it. A faint blue glow was coming from their shirt, which bewildered them. The confusion was soon broken though, at the sound of something walking up behind them. Frisk tried to turn, but was unable to move at all. Frisk could only stare forward, their heart pounding, as whatever was there approached from behind.

It felt like forever, but the footsteps finally stopped directly behind them. Frisk felt whatever was there watching them for a second before they heard a slight chuckle. Frisk felt a breath hit the back of their head and that cigarette smell was back again as smoke curled around their head, making Frisk's eyes water.

"Don't you know how rude it is the walk by someone, especially twice?" Frisk nearly jumped at the voice of the stranger. There was an amused tone in their voice, but an underlay of hostility. Frisk couldn't speak as their heart pounded even harder than before. The stranger seemed to notice their terror which made them chuckle again.

"Though, I'll forgive it if you turn around and greet me properly with a handshake." The stranger talked with a colder tone, and when they spoke, Frisk felt the strange feeling on their chest lift.

"Don't run away, though," the stranger said, amusement back in their voice.

Frisk tentatively turned around, facing the stranger. They weren't much taller than Frisk themself, but something about them seemed bigger and intimidating.

Their head was upturned a bit to make themself seem taller by looking down at frisk more. One eye seemed to be glowing a bit against their pail complexion, and Frisk could see a wide grin on their face. They wore a hoodie/tank top that was ripped and shredded at the bottom, revealing their stomach. No, their...spine? What? How was that possible?

Frisk felt confused and the stranger seemed only to grin wider while they snickered a little bit, glaring down at frisk with their glowing eye

Frisk felt confused and the stranger seemed only to grin wider while they snickered a little bit, glaring down at frisk with their glowing eye.

Frisk jumped as the skeleton jerked its hand towards them for a handshake. The stranger snickered once more while they tilted their head. They found the situation funny and didn't bother hiding it.

"C'mon, don'tcha know how to great a new pal?"

Frisk looked at the hand offered to them. They were wearing fingerless gloves and was angled at a strange way, hiding the palm. Frisk felt uneasy, but carefully reached toward the skeleton to return the handshake.

The grin seemed only to get bigger on the skeleton as their eye narrowed while roughly grabbing Frisk's hand with their own. An immediate shock went through Frisk as they tried to pull their hand away, but was gripped tighter by the stranger.

"What's the matter? I know this is a 'shocking' situation, but it's not that bad." The skeleton laughs as Frisk tries to pull their hand away as whatever is in the skeleton's hand is shooting painful amounts of electricity into their hand. Tears formed in Frisk's eyes as they tried to pull away more, but in vain.

"Oh well, well, it seems you don't have the 'backbone' even to give me a handshake, don't blame ya, you're just too 'shocked' with the situation, that's all," they chuckle to themself as they shrug and let go of Frisk. Tears kept going down Frisk's face while they held their hand to their chest.

The skeleton looked at their own hand and seemed to mess with their glove a bit. They looked down at Frisk and grinned.

"Anyways though, I'm Gloom, and I'm a skeleton, as you already figured out," Gloom stretched her arms, which caused popping to come from them, and they groaned a bit while letting out a yawn.

"You're a human, right? That's pretty funny. The stories I was told was that you guys were scary. Pttf, that's a lie. You looking fucking weak as hell," the skeleton chuckles a little while looking down at Frisk. "I bet you wouldn't even last 5 minutes down here. Hell, you're lucky I found you and not someone else," Gloom shifted her weight to the other leg while lighting a cigarette and putting it between her teeth.

Frisk rolled their eyes a little at the smug skeleton while pushing themself up. Frisk flexed their hand a bit which had began feeling better, before looking back at Gloom with a look of dislike.

Gloom's grin had faded and changed into a sneer. "What's with that eye roll? Do you think you're better than me? You started crying over a little shock, and you think you're better than me, don'tcha?" Their eyes then narrowed as they changed their stance again to a wider one to make them look bigger as their grin returned while smoke billowed around their skull. "I'm gonna prove you wrong,"

Frisk felt that rolling their eyes was a terrible idea.
