Frisk continued on in the rainy city, still being bombarded by the energy-filled lizard monster. Frisk noticed that city had a lot of drains on the curbs and not many were out in the rain, making some parts feel empty, besides the lights coming from apartment buildings.

As Frisk walked on, they noticed little things in the dark alleyways. They looked almost like cats or small dogs. The creatures seemed to be everywhere, like how rats are in cities.

"Oh! Those are the temmies! They are pretty friendly, but are nervous about things bigger than them. If you offer them something though, they'll come over to you," the monster exclaimed gleefully.

Frisk stopped. I really need to keep moving, with a monster looking for me, I can't afford to slow down much. Frisk looked over into an alleyway and saw a couple pairs of eyes looking out. It might help me blend in though if I feed them, I won't take too long. Frisk pulled out the small box of cookies they got from the shop in Snow City. Frisk pulled out one of the cookies and bent down, holding it out towards the alleyway.

Frisk watched as one of the temmies came out slowly. It looked like a small cat but was wearing ripped up clothing and had black hair. It seemed to have a second pair of round ears as well. The temmie came up to Frisk's hand and sniffed at the cookie before swishing its tail in a beckoning motion. Other temmies came out of the alley way, they all looked almost the same. They all came over to Frisk and sniffed the cookie.

"Tem's hav?" One of the temmies, the one that had gray hair, spoke in a quiet voice while looking suspicious.

Frisk nodded and the temmies took bits of the cookie from their hand. Soon the cookie was gone and all the temmies were going back into the alley.

"Thoinks!" All the temmies spoke in clusters as they moved away which made Frisk smile.

Frisk stood back up and kept walking with the monster kid, who was still with them.

"Woahhhh, I wish I could do that, but I don't have arms," Monster kid went next to Frisk as they kept walking down the street.

As the two went down the street, it began to rain harder. The rain seemed to not bother monster kid very much, but Frisk shivered under the jacket.

The monster seemed to notice and they ran ahead til they were outside of a shop.

"Here! We can be in here til it stops raining as hard!" Frisk walked over to the kid before pushing the door of the shop open for them both.

"Hey kiddo! Who's your friend?" A deep, raspy voice called out, it sounded cheerful. Frisk looked in the direction of the voice and saw an elderly tortoise sitting in a chair, a cigar in his mouth.

"Hey Gerson! I just found them coming out of Snow City and they seemed fun! They even fed some temmies!" Monster kid hopped excitedly from foot to foot.

Gerson smiled at the kid. "Did they now? They must be a pretty nice kiddo then," the tortoise turned his head to look at Frisk and his face froze. He seemed to take a deep breath, putting his cigar down before smiling back at Monster Kid. "Say kid, why don't ya take some of my crabapples to your mother, I'm sure she'll love them, they're on the house,"

"Alright Gerson!" The kid grabbed a bag of the apples before running towards the door, opening it with their head. Frisk watched as the monster ran off into the rain.

"A'ight kiddo, I know what you are so why don't you tell me why you're here," Frisk turned to the old tortoise who was glaring at them.

"I'm just trying to get back home, I was told to come this way and that I'd come to the exit," Frisk spoke softly as they sat down in a nearby chair before looking at the old monster who squinted at them.

"Well, you heard right kiddo, but you shouldn't have even came down here from the entrance, it's dangerous for any human, especially right now." Gerson put the cigar to his mouth and dragged on it a bit before putting it back down. "And I'm guessing that you've already ran into one of the biggest dangers judging by those two bone knives you have on you." Frisk looked down at the two knives they had stuck into their waist band. "Ol' Gloomie must see something in ya though, if she gave you those, so I'm not gonna bother you. It's not wise to anger her." Gerson nodded thoughtfully while looking at Frisk.

"Last two humans didn't have such a good encounter with her. I heard that they tried to hurt her brother and well, let's say, they are no longer with us. She is very protective of him." Gerson took another drag on the cigar. "Though, she'll definitely be very angry finding you here, I have the feeling you snuck off without her knowing since neither of the skeletons are accompanying you. You better come up with a good reason if you want to avoid getting the living daylights beaten out of you, though she might not listen anyways."

Frisk felt a little nervous as the Gerson continued on. "That is, if Undying doesn't find you first, she's hot on your tail kiddo." The old tortoise looked at at Frisk with look of pity. "Honestly, I'd hate to be in your position, stuck between a rock and a hard place, a skeleton and a cyborg fish." Gerson chuckled as he puffed on his cigar while winking at Frisk. "And I'd get under that there table right now before one of those two catch you,"

Frisk was suddenly aware of heavy footsteps coming from outside the door. Frisk jumped up and dashed quickly and slid under the table just in time for the door to be slammed open.
