Chapter 46 : Kiss me already!

The door to the front door creaked open as I walked in.Happiness radiated from my face as I found a vase to plop the roses in and progress to the kitchen to place the cupcakes in the fridge.
Benji stood beside the kitchen island searching for something on the countertop.He opened and lifted empty cookie cans furtively.

"Hi Benji,"I greeted popping the fridge door open.

"Hey Sis, How was school?"He responded still intent on his search.
A smile tugged at my swollen lips and crimson patches appeared on my cheek.

I slowly slid the cardboard box in the fridge lucky that Benji hadn't realised my demeanor.

"It was exciting..."I threaded carefully trying unsuccessfully not to sound chirpy.

I hummed a tune to myself as I closed the fridge door and Benji whizzed past.

"Why do you smell like men's cologne?"He asked sniffing the air.He was standing close by searching the fridge for whatever it was that he was looking for.

I slowly backed away from him.Knowing he'd caught on to something.

"Thinking about it,school ended three hours ago.Where were you?"He quizzed going full overprotective brother mode.

"I was with Jake."I stated as he visibly relaxed.

"He told me he liked me and I think we're a couple now.Well he hasn't officially asked me to out yet,but we're something along the lines."I shrugged.

Benji's eyes basically bulged out of its sockets,he tensed up staring every where but me.

"Greene's a good guy."Benji said quietly to himself.

Then aloud,"Me ,him this weekend.We must have a chat."He stated.

"Have fun Cams,but don't hurt yourself."He said patting my hair.I nodded,that was the most emotion I could get from my older brother.

"Now the fuck!Have you seen my car keys?"He asked checking in the bowl beside the front door once more.

"Have you checked your pocket?"I reasoned.

He let out a bitter laugh.

"Thanks."He nodded progressing out of the front door.

"Where are you off to?"I asked behind him.

"Diamonds car broke down, someone's gotta drive her home."Benji shrugged as a smile played on my lips.Benji had it in for her bad.

I lay on my bed staring up at the ceiling,a cloud of pleasant memories floating in my mind.I suddenly let out an excited scream muffling the noise with my pillow.

It was surreal.Jay and I were a thing or so I guess.Remembering our kisses and flirting I burnt pink,totally swooning again over his cute heartfelt confession .I'd barely managed to shove down more than  two spoonfuls of supper tonight,the excitement in me hadn't died down yet.I made do with partying over some grape extract over a video call with Harry and Rach.
They wanted updates and I told them everything,well most of it as they screamed and giggled over the phone.

"Jake is soo romantic."I could hear their voices ringing in my head.I never knew he had it in him myself,I smiled .Then I squealed some more, muffling it once again with my pillow.

Ping!

My iPhone chimed with a message and I slowly peeled the pillow from my face.I groped for the phone somewhere on my bed and clutched it, bringing it up to my face.Its bright screen illuminated my face as I sat up immediately scanning who the message was from.
