Chapter 33

Double Update So Please Read Chapter 32 First XOXO 

I sip on my coffee as I sketch a rough draft of a portrait of Ray and Gideon on their wedding day.

 It's an additional wedding gift for them. 

Today would be another busy day as I need to do this as well as get a dress for the charity gala tonight. 

As promised, I have found two local businesses to attend the gala. 

One is the Asian American art museum in Bayside, Queens and this art store in Brooklyn, that actually host art classes on Monday nights for elementary aged students. 

I'm so excited for these two businesses to be in attendance tonight.

 I get up from my table and stretch a little before leaving the backroom and heading to the counter for a refill.

 After paying for another drink and receiving it I make my way back to the table but freeze once I see who is sitting at my table. 

I can't move. 

My body physically won't even though everything in my brain is telling me to get the hell out of here. 

"Willow please." The voice pleads with me. 

The figure gets up and reaches their arm out to me but I back away in fear. 

My body had finally moved.

 "Sorry, sorry. Just please sit down." 

Against my better judgement I sit down. 

"What are you doing here?" I whisper. 

He looks up into my eyes through his hood and hat that sit on his hair as a disguise of sorts. 

"I came to apologize."

 "Save it, I don't want it and I don't need it. What I need is you gone from my life. Forever." I seethe.

 "Willow, please, I'm trying to do something right for once." 

I release a dry chuckle at this. 

"And what would that be? Leave now." 

"You don't understand. Let me explain." 

"No, absolutely, not." I state, getting up. 

I've had enough. 

"My parents are taking you to court Willow." He rushes out as an attempt to get me to stay. 

And it works.

 I turn back to him with wide eyes.

 "What?" I question in shock.

 "They are suing for defamation." He explains.

 "No. Everything, I said was true." I whisper. 

"I know, that's why I've been trying to get in touch with you. As a warning." 

"Oh my god. I wasn't going crazy. It was you..at the restaurant and across the street."

 "Yes, and I'm sorry. For everything –" 

"No, you aren't sorry. If you were you wouldn't be bringing me to court." 

"Willow, I have to do this. I know it sounds bad, but my parents will cut me off, if I don't go through with this. I'm sorry but I must do this. I can't be alone. I can't be broke. Who knows what I'll do if that were to ever happen?"
