Chapter 73

"We fucking kissed! Twice! And I liked it." I voice as I stare up at the ceiling.

Julien groans into her pillow.

"You've been going at this since two in the morning, when you got back. Let it rest Willow!"

I look over to the clock on her dresser and see six am flashing across the screen.

"I'm sorry." I voice softly.

Sighing Julien says, "It's fine. I'm just trying to understand why this is such a big deal? If you liked it, then what's the problem."

"That I liked it." I state simply.

"But you said you wanted to move on and that's why you leaned in?" Julien now questions in confusion.

"I can't have a relationship whether it's casual or serious with my co-worker. That's the problem." I sigh loudly.

"Maybe you should have thought about that before you exchanged saliva with him?" Julien suggests.

"Not helping." I scold from the opposite end of the bed that I'd been laying down and ranting on since the early hours this morning.

"Willow, it's not like he's your superior. Y'all have the same title. And y'all have been friends for a while so if it feels right, go for it. And you don't have to have it all like figured out right now. Just see it where it goes." Julien advises.

"And what if it where it goes is somewhere bad?!" I question.

"Then don't do anything with him. Willow, I love you but I'm exhausted girl and we have Aki's viewing party tonight, we need sleep like right now, so we aren't sleeping through his show." Julien groans.

Sighing I agree, "You're right, you're right. I'm sorry."

"Nothing to be sorry about" she whispers as her breathing becomes more layered, signaling she's about to fall asleep.

I try to fall asleep too, but my mind simply won't let me.

Loud, excited chatter fills up the entry hall as the group greets each other.

Aki is having a viewing party for his latest short film.

He invited us, of course, as well as some professors and classmates from his NYU days, and a few potential investors that could bring the film to an actual production company.

"Audge, hey." I smile as I pull Audrey into a hug.

"Hey. You look great." She beams sincerely.

"So do you! Where's Aki?" I question.

"Oh, he wanted to make a speech before we see the film so he's perfecting his speech in the back." She informs me.

"That's cool, have you-" I start but am interrupted as Max comes by, tugging on my sleeve a little.

"Hey! You look hot and I want to show you these neat photos down the hall. Come on!" he pesters, trying to get me to follow him.

"What the hell, Max?" I question as he drags me towards a hall but I get my answer as the entry door opens and in walks Declan....with a blonde.

I presume this is Montana.

"Really?" I scold him, coming to a stop.

"Try and be a little more creative next time." I sigh, letting myself go from him.
