Devils and Angels (GG Reboot)

Chapter 17

I'm approaching Julien from behind, getting ready to question her about where she went this morning but Audrey's voice comes into play as I hear her discussing Julien with Aki and Obie.

"I'm feel terrible but not speaking to her this weekend has been a little bit of a weight off my shoulders. It's just, you know..too much sometimes." Audrey says to Aki and Obie.

I know Julien can hear her because hell I can hear her so as they walk away I sweep in to distract Julien from what she just heard.

 "Hey, babe! Why'd you leave this morning without saying anything?" I question passing her a coffee.

 "Thanks." she smiles weakly while taking a sip of the drink. 

"I needed to run home and get my uniform. Ran into Westin by the way...shirtless." she smirks.

 "Oh, god. I'm so sorry." I say sipping on my drink as well. 

"Please, I'm the one that should be sorry. I've never noticed how fit your brother is." she smiles trying to get a rise out of me.

 "Julien.." I playfully warn. 

"Anyway, thank you so much for letting me stay the night last night. I just couldn't be alone in that house." she sighs. 

"You are always welcomed at my place and you know it. Stay as long as you need." I reassure her. 

"Great, I have to stop at my place and get some more clothes and essentials after school but then I'll be over." Julien explains. 

"Sure, I'll have mom set an extra plate at the table." I smile. 

"Thank you." she says as the bell rings.

 We both go our separate ways. 

During bio Declan continued to only talk to me when it was absolutely necessary for our project and due to his pissy behavior we are now behind on making the notes for our in-class presentation later this week. 

I had to practically force him into meeting with me during lunch to finish our project. 

I decide to not tell Luke about it and just pray he doesn't find out. 

It is now lunch hour and I'm sitting in the courtyard with my laptop and notes out ready to create our powerpoint. 

"Hey, sorry I'm late. My last class let out a little bit after the bell." Declan announces taking a seat next to me.

 "No worries. I've already got the powerpoint up and I shared it with your email so let's get started." I inform him. 

He gets out his laptop and a bag of popcorn. 

Declan notices I don't have anything to eat so he offers me some, "Want some popcorn?" he questions. 

"No, you probably poisoned it." I chuckle but he stares at me with a blank expression. 

"Okay, that was a terrible joke. I'm just a little taken aback by how nice you are being to me right now." I state. 

"Please I was just hangry in bio. Now that I've got some food in me I'm a completely different person." he replies. 

"So every time you've acted like a complete dick it was because you were hangry?" I question not buying this guy's mood swings. 

"Not entirely, today, yes. All the other times you genuinely pissed me off Willow." he explains.

 "I'm sorry about the Emerson thing but there are plenty of other fish in the sea, high school girl fishes that is." I advise him. 

He laughs lightly at this.
