Seven am came way too fast.
The sound of my phone alarm going off causes me to begrudgingly get up from the bed.
I stretch a little and then unplug my phone from the charger Declan gave me and exit the bedroom.
It's oddly very quiet in the house.
I expected to wake up to some music playing or maybe the T.V. running in the living room but I was met with silence.
Once I made it to the kitchen, I grabbed my mug from last night and poured some water in it.
I was parched.
After finishing the cup, I quietly washed it and put it on the drying rack.
As I made my way to the front door I was finally met with sound.
"Leaving, before saying goodbye?" Declan questions from behind me.
I sheepishly turn around, "Sorry. I assumed you were still asleep. I was gonna text you."
"You were gonna let me sleep in and miss first period?" he asks another question with smug look.
"Well, when you put it like that I um guess I was. Sorry." I apologize.
"It's fine." He chuckles.
"Anyway though, let's go to school together. Cut down on our EO2 emissions and what not. I can have my driver drop you off at your place so you can change into your uniform." He suggests.
"Sure, yeah. Let's do it." I shrug my shoulders.
He laughs to himself. "Oh my god, Declan grow up." I state with wide eyes once I realize why he's giggling.
Boys.
He just laughs some more at my scolding as he holds the door open for me to walk through.
The ride to my house was short which was surprising since it's rush hour traffic.
Declan waits in the car while I run up to change.
I'm back in the car within ten minutes and we are making our way to school.
When we get there, I see Audrey and Aki sitting at one of the tables near the entrance.
Declan must see the unsure look on my face because he says, "If you want to say hi, just go for it. If they don't want to talk then I'll be here."
"Thanks, but you don't know Audrey like I do. She's not going to put on a nice act for me. I unfortunately just have to wait it out till she comes to me." I sigh.
"Well maybe I can talk to Aki." Declan suggests.
"Please do not fight my battles for me." I say, running a hand through my hair as we walk into the building.
"If you say so. Aki just waved at me..so..." Declan trails off.
"Don't please." I plead.
"And this morning just got so much worse." I sigh as we run into Julien in front of the courtyard.
"Hi, Willow!" she beams upon seeing me.
"Morning." I reply dryly.
"Hey Declan." She smiles at him too.
"Hey." He smiles politely in return.
"So weird seeing you two here together." She states.
"At school?" I reply with a raised eyebrow.
