Chapter 88

Liam POV

I let my eyes wander around the secluded restaurant.

I had already put in an order for some red wine and bread and so now I wait.

The past few days has been filled with some intense thinking between me and my brain.

And it's safe to say that I have finally developed a plan that is bound to work.

"Liam!" Ruth McGee greets me as she makes her way to our table, standing up I bring her into a side hug.

"Ruth, great to see you."

"It is wonderful to see you, where's Willow though?" she questions with a raised eyebrow.

"Something came up with her family last minute, she sends hugs and kisses." I lie through my teeth as we both take our seats.

"Oh, will tell her I send hugs and kisses back." She smiles.

"So, tell me, how's Chicago so far?" Ruth asks.

"It's been wonderful so far. I've been doing my research and the market here is excellent. I believe you were right in wanting to open a new location here. In fact, Willow and I have been talking and we are both more than ready to make the move out here." I announce as I open my folder with documents to prove my suggests are good.

Ruth takes the documents from me, looking over them carefully.

I bounce my leg nervously under the table as I watch her eyes read over the docs.

A small silence overtakes us.

"Well, it seems like you are right." She finally breathes out after a couple of minutes.

"But I have to ask, are you and Willow really okay with moving again? It hasn't even been a full year since you two have been in New York."

"We are more than ready." I lie again.

"Okay, okay. I'll need to discuss this with my investors some more before I give the final go ahead, but job well done." She commends me, causing me to let a sigh a relief.

Step one accomplished.

Declan thinks I'm a fucking idiot, but I read his damn book and most importantly I see the way he looks at her.

He still loves her, surely but she's mine.

He had his chance with her, and he blew it.

With me and Willow moving to a whole other state he won't even think about trying to get her back.

And Willow adores Ruth.

If Ruth asks her to move, she's going to without a doubt this is going all according to plan.

Now I just have to start the second part of my plan.

I love her.

And despite me being the oldest I've come second to Declan in everything in life.

Not anymore though.

Not with her.

One Week Later

"Be honest with me Willow.....do you feel something for him?"

"Cause I can guarantee you he claims he has feelings for you but look at what he's plans on doing!" I exclaim as I pull up an article on my phone passing it to her.

Her brows furrow in confusion as she takes it from my hands.

I watch as her eyes widen the more she reads.
