Chapter 52

"Okay here goes nothing." I sigh heavily as I press the submit button for my Ruth McGee Summer Art Institute Internship application.

"You've got this princess! She's gonna love it." Declan encourages me, squeezing my shoulder in comfort from behind me.

"God, I'm so nervous." I voice moving my hand through my hair.

"Ahh fuck! I just remembered we have dinner with your parents tonight. Fuck, now I'm even more nervous." I exclaim.

Declan laughs at this as he continues to massage my back and shoulders.

"Lo, they love you, you know that, no need to be worried." He says.

"Yeah, but that was before we started dating." I point out.

"And nothing has changed for them. Trust me there is no need to be worried." He speaks.

"Fine, okay." I sigh as I get up and go to his closet grabbing my outfit for the evening.

I place my dress on the bed and pull out my makeup bag so I can sit in front of his mirror and start on it.

"How long will they be in town again?" I question as I start on my foundation.

"About eight hours." He says, scratching the back of his neck.

"Dec." I gasp, meeting his eyes in the mirror.

"It's fine. I'm used to it really. They both are here for the day doing some PR for my mom's new season of one of her shows. They both got meetings bright and early tomorrow morning in London. It's just one of their busy seasons. They'll be home for a while soon.

After studying his face, I decide to let it go.

"Why don't you tell me more about our Halloween costumes." He suggests wanting to change the subject.

Giving in I begin to excitedly rant about the costumes I just ordered for us last night.

"Willow, it is so good to see you again." Mrs. Kim beams at me as we take our seat at the table.

"Yes, how have you been dear?" Mr. Kim questions.

"Really good. I just submitted my application for this art internship this upcoming summer so I'm hoping everything goes well with that." I reveal.

"That's wonderful! I'm sure you are a shoe-in." Mrs. Kim smiles.

"Declan, it's good to see you too son." Mr. Kim states.

"Yeah, I missed you too dad." Declan voices.

We had just finished our entrees when the waiter comes by with a new unopened bottle of wine.

"Sir, we didn't order this." Mrs. Kim says.

"Yes, it was a gift from the table over there." The waiter nods his head over to a few tables diagonal from us.

There sits a brunette who waves over smirking.

"Is that Sage?" Mrs. Kim questions, looking in the brunette's direction.

The mystery brunette gets up from her seat and comes to our table.

"That's definitely her." Mr. Kim grimaces.

"Hello, Mr. and Mrs. Kim. Declan." This Sage girl beams at us.
