Bruce's POV
I am anxious to reveal my surprise. Anna is equally giddy, jumping up and down like a little girl. "Let's see it!"
I placed the olive colored little box on my palm and gently opened it. Anna screamed when she saw the sparkling princess cut diamond resting on the platinum band. "If you weren't my brother, I'd marry you." She screamed.
"Do you think she'll like it?"
My sister inspected it raising it to the afternoon light and watching it sparkle. "Dani is not fussy. She's going to love it. Bruce, you're doing this! You're really doing this!"
"I figured I need to show my commitment. We can be engaged for a year, right? It's not too long?"
"A year is good enough. I can plan the wedding of the century in a year."
"Or we can hire a professional." I became doubtful as to whether my sister can plan something as intricate as a wedding. She is the most impatient person I know.
"Don't offend me. By the way, my Porsche was wrecked while impounded. You owe me."
"I know. For your graduation gift, you can have any of my cars as compensation."
I'm excited about her graduation from high school. It means Dani, who happens to be a year younger than Anna, is getting closer to a ripe age fit for an intimate wedding on a beautiful island. I can't stop planning it out! I'm excited!
"That's fair. I'm thinking the Bentley but hey, you have so many cars I bet I'll be spoilt for choice. I have to do some finishing touches on her party. Everyone has confirmed attendance."
"Great. I hope Dani will like it."
"The party or the house?"
I looked around the brand new mansion.
In the name of extravagant gestures, Nick had bought an entire neighborhood with eight houses and gifted them to his friends. So far, four are occupied. We are calling it The Billionaire Coldesac. Each house has it's charm. I'm starting to think he didn't just stumble into this construction. Tony's house is a Tudor. It is so English it's impossible to deny that it was custom made for him. Nick's house looks like something out of Tuscany. Ferrer's has a Spanish hacienda look. Cole's house is almost a replica of the one at the Harrington Estate.
This house I am in is something out of Tahoe. He knows I like cabin like looks. This is where I want to start a family with Dani."
"Both."
"Yes. I love your house Bruce. I will visit plenty of times! Now go. I'll finish up."
I quickly checked my watch recalling I have a meeting with my mother at the company. She said it's important.
*
"Mom." I entered her office.
She tapping her pen on the table, her green eyes dead set on me. "Do you have a fetish for hackers?" She asked me.
"I don't follow. What do you mean?"
I heard the door close. I turned swiftly to meet the Colonel's unforgiving blue eyes. "What did I say about that girl?" He questioned in a low tone.
I defied his orders. I followed my heart.
"What is going on? I feel like the two of you are about to gang up on me."
"Courtney Love, you go first. I'll finish." He crashed on the sofa, still glaring at me.
"What do we do here at the St Patrick Group?"
"We build tech and weapons for the military. We recruit ex soldiers with outstanding credentials and employ them in private security."
"Well answered. Do you think it's dangerous for company secrets like tech meant for the government to fall into the wrong hands?"
