Daniella's POV
"I am never ever getting pregnant." Anna cringed when I looked up from the sink. I look like a bad Monday and a horror movie wrapped in one. "Even make up cannot save you."
She's good at stating the obvious.
"I have to go to work." I sighed as I let the water run.
Two pregnancy tests are on the counter. It took. I'm pregnant again and this time it's rough. With the first baby, I rarely threw up. This one has been summoned from hell. There's no peace for me. Even the slightest smell of food disgusts me.
"Your boss is your soon to be mother in law. Just... Just tell her her grandbaby asked you to stay home. If I was pregnant, I would so use the pregnancy to get out of absolutely everything!"
I pressed my hand on my stomach. It hurts. The other one didn't hurt. "Oh boy!" I exclaimed before I was on another puking bout. Anna faithfully held up my hair.
"Isn't it weird for your significant other to see you looking like trash?"
I glared at her. "My significant other is partially responsible for this! He should see me like this." I washed out my mouth. I steadied myself only to go at it again. Anna used her scrunchie to hold up all my hair.
"Hospital?"
"I'm fine."
"Dani, you do this every morning for the last three days. Today, it won't stop. What are you even throwing up? You didn't eat last night!"
"I must have eternal reserves of puke." I stood up somewhat straight. Hayden will be happy I'm not working today. She hates me so much that she doesn't talk to me. Even when I'm next to her she asks someone to tell me things. "I think I'll call in sick."
"A hot shower, some tea and sleep." She recommended. "You look hideous Dani!"
"Thanks a lot bestie."
"We could plan the wedding on your downtime."
"What? Why?"
"You are the most unenthusiastic bride I know! I'm more excited about this wedding than you are!" She helped me get into bed.
"I don't see the point if Bruce isn't here!"
"Bruce could return on short notice. Don't you want to marry him when you see him? Save your baby from being a bastard!"
"Don't say that."
"It's true."
"That's so medieval Anna."
"It's still true. So, I brought a folder. It's small-ish. It's something I have been working on."
She revealed a pink folder that looks like an encyclopedia. It's not small-ish. "Don't tell me that's the wedding."
"This is the wedding. But first, call in sick. Mom hates it when she has to call."
"I'll text her."
"She does not read texts!"
I dialled her number. After ringing for a few seconds she answered. "Good morning sunshine."
"I am not feeling well. I won't be able to come to work today."
"Why are you telling me?"
"Because you are my boss."
"I'm not your immediate boss. You should call Hayden."
"I'll text her."
"Bye." She hanged up.
I won't text her. She can do whatever she is deems fit. "Done."
