Bruce's POV
The meeting point was is in Sicily, a place Nick said is the godfather's mansion. After multiple security checks and getting everything taken from us, even our phones, we are seated in s living room waiting in silence.

I am grateful for Nick facilitating the meeting but I don't care for the little pleasantries and hospitality. I will not drink anything that has been offered to me. My eyes are glued to the double curved staircase. I am waiting to see Dani.

"Don't be rude. He's being generous by allowing us to make this trade. Eat something." Nick urged me. "He's taking the tea.

I picked one peanut in a bowl and ate it. He frowned but he knows I don't give a damn. Izzy out up a fight to get here. Nick and I had to carry a pregnant woman and force her into the plane.

"How long will this take?" I asked him.

"As long as it takes." He answered.

"She better be all right. I swear if there's even a strand of hair out of place I'll hurt someone."

My best friend shook his head.

Two men came down the stairs. One is younger and the other older. The younger one stepped aside for the older man. Nick got on his feet and I took the cue to do that too. Isabella doesn't care. She didn't even look at him.

"Signor Mancini," Nick spoke. "Thank you for seeing us on such short notice."

"Nicko." He pulled him into a hug, kissing both of his cheeks. Nick is not a hugger but the submission he's putting up is strange. This once he is not the alpha in the room. "You must be Bruce St Patrick."

We shook hands.

"Yes. Where's Dani." I got to the point.

"On her way down. Please, sit." He took a seat and we followed. "This must be the identical twin." He paid attention to Izzy.

She stared at him and looked down at once.

"She is." I answered.

"Forgive my son for making the mistake of taking the wrong girl." His brown eyes are glued on Izzy.

"Just give me Dani and we won't have to cross paths again."

"I respect a straight forward man." He said as he faced the steps. I saw Dani coming down but she is being helped by two maids. She looks frail. Not only did my body drown with concern but fear when I saw she doesn't look as pregnant as her twin. I glanced at Izzy and her look said it all. Izzy looks pale. She also got on her feet.

I didn't wait for her to get down. I hurried meeting her halfway. She broke into tears but didn't speak when I embraced her. I wrapped my arms around her and held her tightly. I'm looking for a familiar scent, a familiar feeling but all this feels different. Is she my Dani? Are the games over? I cupped her face.

"Are you okay?"

She glanced at the man behind her and nodded. He has a smug look on his face. I immediately concluded that he must be Giorgio. My blood hit boiling point fast! Dani's fingers sank into my forearms. "Please... I want to leave. Take me home."
I helped hee down the rest of the steps guiding her to the living room. Isabella came to greet her but Dani chose to ignore her twin. "Get me out of here. Por favor papi, just get me out of here." She pleaded.

"St Patrick," Romano Mancini spoke. "We are even. Walk away with your girl and let's forget this mishap happened."

"Mishap?" Dani had a sudden outburst. "Hat about my baby? Was he a mishap?"

Was? Why is she using a past tense to refer to our baby?

"Hush little flower." Romano addressed her. "You are free. Take this opportunity and leave while it still lasts. I would hate to kill you both."
