Chapter 30: Nick & The Mafia

Bruce's POV
I'm deploying. It's final. Dani is devastated.

I can't get out of it. I'll be gone for an unspecified period of time. I'm leaving in a few days. Before I go, I have something I must cross off my list. Giorgio Mancini.

If Nick wasn't involved in this, Giorgio would have died a long time ago. I'm holding back because of Nick and it's causing a rift between Dani and me. It's time to talk to him about it. He won't be pleased with my demands but haven't I always had his back?

"I'm sorry to drop in so late but we need to talk."

"What is this about?"

"Have I always had your back Nickolas?"

"Always. What is this about?" He crossed his arms on his chest. He is already in his pajamas. He was probably in bed when I called.

"Giorgio. Where can I find him?"

"Why do you ask?"

"I want to kill him."

He raised his eyebrow at me. He stepped off the porch, barefooted and he dragged me along to the lawn. "Don't say shit like that out loud! What's wrong with you? I thought we talked about this!"

"When Jason nearly beat Keira to death, didn't you want him dead?"

"I did but I didn't kill him."

If he would have taken Kei's life you would have killed the bastard. Giorgio kicked Daniella. He slapped her. He punched her. He assaulted her. My baby is dead because of him. I want him dead. Will you help me or not?"

"I'm sure you're not daft. You know how these things work. If you go after him, there will be retaliation."

"I'll deal with the consequences later."

"No you won't." He poked my chest. "You will be too dead to face any consequences. On the other hand, I'll be grieving the death of my son! Romano lives for balance. You take one of his son's eyes, he takes one of yours! You kill Giorgio, he comes for Marcelle because I promised him you will not retaliate!"

"I have always had your back. This once, why won't you have mine?"

"Because of the consequences!" He spelt out the last word. "Bruce, I'm sorry you lost your baby but will you be any happier if Giorgio is dead?"

"Yes! Yes! I'll be fucking happy!" I yelled at the top of my voice. It's the dead if night. I'm sure that I have woken up his whole house. The lights are being switched on.

"Good going. You woke up my kids." He spoke in a controlled tone.

"If you want us to remain friends, you will help me. If you don't, forget about us being friends!"

"Bruce!" He called after me. "Bruce come on! What the fuck I?is wrong with you? Bruce!"

Nick's POV
"What's going on?" Keira has made her way outside. "It's am in the morning. What are you arguing with Bruce at 2am?"

"Let's go back to bed mia amore, it's nothing." I took her hand and led her back into the house.

"Nick, what is it?"

I closed the front door. "Let's use our indoor voices." I whispered.

"Okay." She whispered back.

When Bruce was going on and on about killing Giorgio, I was totally on board. That prick gets away with a lot. Being Romano's firstborn son, Giorgio is untouchable. Giorgio is going to be the next godfather and I don't even want to imagine what that will be like. He is recklessly dangerous! We had a nasty run-in once and he threatened me. He made sure to inform me that he is above me. While I don't scare easily, Giorgio is insane. When he gets trigger-happy people die. I have children and a wife to worry about. That kid has to go!
