CHAPTER TWENTY

After we finished the last game ay nagtipon tipon kaming lahat sa seaside at gumawa ng bonfire, it's already 9:00 PM and we already finished our dinner.

"Nubayan, wala tuloy tayong alak." pagrereklamo ni Heily sa tabi ko, hindi kasi kami nanalo sa last game kaya hanggang juice lang kami samantalang sa kabilang grupo ay may alak.

"Kukupad kupad ka kasi." asar naman ni Seira sa kaniya sabay inom ng juice.

"All students must be on their room at 10:00 PM, we need to wake up early tomorrow dahil babyahe pa tayo papuntang isla. Understood!?" lahat naman kami ay sumagot sa kaniya. I was playing the glass with juice when someone grabbed it from me.

"It looks like you have a plan to make it an ice, your stares so cold huh." bungad ni Brea sakin at tumabi sa gilid ko.

"OA mo dun sa part na magiging ice yan." Sagot ko kaya natawa siya.

Napapitlag ako dahil sa paghawak niya sa kamay ko kaya bigla kong natapik iyon palayo.

"I'm sorry, did I make you uncomfortable?" Nag aalalang tanong niya saakin, hindi naman sa pagiging maarte but I can sense that there is someone who's looking at us now.

"No uh nabigla lang ako." sagot ko sa kaniya kaya tumango tango naman siya.

"It's been a year since I asked you if I can court you, you didn't say anything about it. U-uh..." napahinto ito sa sinasabi niya na parang nahihiya sa susunod na sasabihin.

"Can I have atleast one chance, Shye?" tanong nito sakin. Brea is a total package, beautiful, smart and sporty. She has a good attitude too and yet I don't like her, I mean I like her but as a friend. I can't see myself falling inlove with her, all I can see is pure sister relationship.

"I'm sorry for bringing it up, Shye." i felt sorry for her, she has a lot of suitors out there but she's wasting her time with me.

"You know that I like you right?" Agad naman siyang tumango.

"But it's not in a romantic way, Brea. I can see you as my sister, my friend but not as a lover. You're smart, I know you understand what I am saying." ngumiti naman siya at tumango.

"That's why I like you, you don't give people false hope. I know where I can place myself, Shye." I smiled at her.

"Thanks for understanding, Brea." I saw her smile once a again.

"How about Ms. Montello?" nanlaki ang maya kong tiningnan siya kaya tumayo ako at hinila ito para sumama saakin, baka may makarinig.

"What are you saying?" mahinang tanong ko sa kaniya pero tumawa lang ito.

"You don't have to hide it with me, Shye. I know there's something between the two of you. At first I thought I was just imagining things but when I saw her got out of your room, I know that there's something." ngingisi ngising sabi nito saakin. Napatakip naman ako ng mukha sa nalaman ko.

"Hey, you don't have to worry. I know how to keep a secret. But Shye, you know what you are into right?." napatahimik naman ako sa tanong niya, I actually don't know.

"She's our professor, guard your heart okay? I'm always here if you need someone to talk about it." dahil sa sinabi niya ay bigla ko itong niyakap, she's the most sofest person I've met.

"Thank you, Brea." sabi ko sa kaniya.

"But if she hurts you, I won't think twice to get you away from her." tatawa tawa niyang sabi kaya natawa na din ako.

Bumitaw na din kami sa yakapan namin at nag umpisang maglakad pabalik sa pwesto namin kanina, I saw Ms. Montello's cold stare at us kaya napalunok ako. What did I do this time?
