"How much for a night?" I ask impatiently.
"45 is the best I can do." The receptionist smiles at me, I roll my eyes at her.
"I have to speak with your manager." I demand, smiling back at her sarcastically and she only mimics my actions from earlier, rolling her eyes and walking to another room.
In about another minute, she comes back with a slightly older looking woman behind her, and I still recognise her, those eyes and that silky smooth black hair.
"Aiden?" She freezes in her place, her eyes widening in shock at first but she immediately relaxes in recognition when I nod, pulling me into a tight hug.
She pulls away, still in shock as she runs a hand through my hair, petting my head aggressively.
"Look at you!" She squeals, "you've grown so much!"
I gag in annoyance when I hear her say that, it's the worst thing you can hear from somebody you haven't seen in years.
She suddenly lets go of me, turning all her attention to Zachary instead.
"Oh my god, my little Zachary!" The girl practically screams, sweeping zak up into her arms as she spins him around, and I smile at the sight of the two embracing eachother after so long.
Zak's face blushes a Scarlett red as she squeezes his face, ruffling at his hair happily.
"Ooooh!" He almost suffocates him to death, yet he still manages to smile. "You've always been my favourite, kid. My heart has a special spot for you."
I know Zak can't handle compliments well, but I also know he secretly loves them to death. He reaches out to fix his hair as he looks to the floor with a smile, his face burning up.
I giggle at the sight of him, I giggle at how adorable his reaction is.
The girl suddenly sighs dramatically, snatching me closer to her. "So? What can I do for the two of you?"
I glance at Zachary, he just returns my glance and turns back to her, I do so too, hesitating before answering her.
"Can we go somewhere else for this?" I whisper to her. She immediately nods her head in understanding, walking us to another room with one arm wrapped around me, the other pulling Zak's arm.
She shuts the door behind us, flicking the lights on as we take our seats infront of her. I glare at Zak but he doesn't look back this time, I know he's depending on my explanation, he doesn't like talking.
"So?" Elif breaks the awkward silence.
"I- uh-" I rub the back of my neck in embarrassment, not wanting to say this at all. "I know this is such short notice, but we really need a place to stay, and we don't have anywhere else to go for atleast a month."
She squints her eyes, looking down at her desk as she sighs. "The most I can do is a month." She finally looks in my eyes, a sympathetic look on her face. "I'm sorry, hun. Business has been slow."
"Thank you." I nod at her. "I think we can figure the rest out later. Thanks so much, elif, you don't know how much this means to me."
"Ah, stop saying that." She slams her hand on the table. "Scratch this, how's my cousin?"
"She's doing good." I shrug. "I mean, I guess she was the last time we saw her."
She furrows her eyebrows and tilts her head in confusion, I know it's her way of asking 'what the actual fuck are you talking about'
