"Okay, I get it!" I suddenly snap at him, slamming my palms against the marble table.
"Don't you fucking yell at me." He warns quietly, pointing his finger in my face cautiously. "I will fire you before you've even started to work."
I step back in embarrassment, looking down to the tile floor as my cheeks blush a Scarlett red. 'Sorry,' I mutter.
Aiden immediately takes the next step infront of me, his arm pushing me back slightly as he steps forward, but I don't allow him to.
"It's okay." I get on the tip of my toes to whisper in his ear. He cautiously steps back, still locking eyes with Randy angrily.
"I'll excuse you for today, just this once. You'll both be back here tomorrow, and you'll start working like actual employees with schedules." He tries to keep his voice quiet, but I know he's angry. "Go home, you better be back tomorrow by 2."
I nod at him, too afraid to say anything. Aiden drags me out, grabbing my wrist and pulling me out the exit.
"That annoying little bitch." He hisses under his breath, angrily letting go of my wrist which he was gripping tightly just a second ago.
"Come on, aiden." I nod my head, holding my hand out for him to hold. "Let's go home, come on. You need rest."
He does need rest, truly. I don't think he has slept well in two weeks, despite working here and his life being shit.
He broke 5 glasses on accident today, dropping them down from a tray.
He was so creeped out, he felt the need to text me and ask me to walk him home. He was absolutely humiliated, he was struggling to talk because he was scared he'd get beaten up.
It's not like aiden to do that at all, but everybody has episodes like that every now and then. I know he even feels embarrassed around me, but I try my best not to make him feel that way.
He clings to my arm the whole way home, not saying anything at all.
He's so quiet, I don't think I've ever thought about experiencing a moment like this, seeing aiden so nervous and humiliated, to the point where he feels like he can't talk to me.
I don't know what happened back there, but it had to be something serious, something important. Aiden wouldn't do that for no reason.
Aiden never gets nervous, he's the most confident person I know. He never doubts himself, I know he would never do such a thing on purpose.
I'd say it were an accident, but he's so afraid, it couldn't be. He saw something, he had to think of something so bad or experience it to be reacting like this, that's how aiden is.
He called me to walk him home like a mother picking up her child from school earlier than she was supposed to. He tries to hide behind me, but it certainly doesn't work, he's too tall to be able to hide behind me, or maybe I'm just short.
his breathing is unsteady even as we step out and walk. He looks around nervously, like everybody around him is suddenly his enemy. Like he fears everyone, human beings in general.
And, hell, I can't survive seeing him like this. I can't watch aiden walk around in fear, like thinks something is up with him.
He finally gives up searching in the crowd of people on the streets, staring down at his feet instead, his face blushing a deep red colour, he looks like a ripe tomato.
I'm busy stressing about what could have happened, completely zoned out. I realise he still hasn't said a single word, though we've been walking for over half an hour.
