Now what?
I tilt my head, placing my bags down somewhere and finally feeling freedom.
Not exactly, I was referring to those bags. The sight infront of me sure is not making me feel free, not I'm the slightest.
In fact, I want to throw my organs up. I don't feel free, much less happy or satisfied.
August's men sure are good, because these damn buildings, this is something Nick could never do, not in this universe, not in another. This whole thing is on a completely new level.
This technology is was more professional than what you'd see back at the asylum. It felt like all the guards were robots, because they were trained to be like robots.
That's why it was hard to break into here, especially without knowing where the fuck they're keeping Zachary.
I want to break down, right here, because I know that this may be one of the most dangerous experiences of my life, and there's a chance I won't make it out alive.
But what about Zachary? What will happen to him? How is he? Is he hurt? Geez, is he even alive right now? Is he in there?
"Boss, we've got company." I hear a quiet voice whisper behind me, and the whole world is suddenly so silent after that.
I turn around slowly and cautiously in the dark, barely even seeing what's infront of me in the alleyways.
A guy looks into my eyes for two seconds before disappearing behind the wall. I tilt my head in confusion. Is he not gonna do anything.
My heart almost beats out of my chest when I hear a loud crash behind me, and I suddenly regret turning around.
A pair of strong arms grab me, lifting me off the floor and practically throwing me a 100 meters away, my head bumping against the floor and making me groan in pain.
"Fuck." I curse to myself, shaking my clearly injured hand in the air so it stops to burn, but it only seems to make the pain a hundred times worse.
I struggle to turn around, only to find august standing over me, shaking in rage and gripping onto his shotgun tightly.
"Fucking Armstrongs." He whispers angrily. "I've had enough of your shit, the fuck are you doing here?" He pushes the gun into my forehead, digging it into my skin.
I stay silent for a few seconds, before sliding my foot under his, making him trip and landing right on top of me, giving me the perfect opportunity to flip him around and snatch the gun out of his hand.
His men react fast, stepping forwards and pulling their guns out all in sync, making me step away from august.
Robots.
"Take me to him." I demand, he furrows his eyebrows and lets out a scoff along with a grin on his face.
"Why, exactly?" He teases. Laughing to himself. Does he think this is funny? Because I'm about to fuck him up.
"Don't make me do this the hard way." I warn him, tone suddenly changing to something completely different.
"The hard way?" He laughs again. At this point, I could actually kill him and all of his men right here. He's ten years older than me, yet I've killed twice the amount of people he has and I'm far more powerful than he is, he just won't admit it.
"You asked for if." I smile to myself, returning his exact same gaze, leaving him confused in his place for a few seconds.
In less than ten seconds, I pull out a lighter, light it up, throw it onto the plastic trash can, causing three of the buildings to set on fire, and also causing august to almost choke me to my death.
