Asia sat at her kitchen counter on Sunday morning, her eyes laser focused on her laptop as she looked over the details of the closing documents for a sale that she would be finalizing the next day. She flinched when her phone rang, startled by the sound that broke her concentration and pulled her out of work mode. A calm little smile crept over her face once she noticed that the call was from Kirsnick, a longtime friend of hers that she'd known since they were teenagers.
"You know what time it is, Slime!" He greeted her playfully.
"Hey Nick!" She laughed.  "Are you still on tour?" Kirsnick hated when she called him Nick, and Asia loved the fact that he hated it, so the name stuck.
"Yeah, but I'ma be back home on da 8th and I needa make a move. I'm lookin' foe a new spot, I need ya help." He said.
"Alright, well let's get together in a few weeks and talk it over. You wanna do brunch?" She asked.
"Hell naw!" He protested. "You not 'bout to drag me to one of dem bougie ass brunch spots! I'd rather eat yo cookin' anyway. You know, a home cooked meal. A nigga been eatin' fast food on tha road foe months, I'm over it!" He complained.
"Ugh, so wait, I have to be your realtor and your personal chef too? That's exactly why your greedy butt got left off Bad and Bougie." She joked. "You were probably somewhere babysitting a plate and missed the studio session." Asia teased. They both shared a hearty laugh at her playful insult.
"Yesssirrr! Aight, good to know you still my opp. Gotta keep my eye on you! Aye, but look, make sure you cook sum cube steak, you know tha way I like it. Oh, and greens too! And you know I need dat mac and cheese wit tha peach tea drank." He boldly requested.
"Alright, I hear you Mr. Butterball." She giggled as she made a play on his last name. "I'll see you on Friday." She humored.
"Yeah, I'ma see ya lil big head hatin' ass on Friday, love you." He said with a laugh.
"Love you too Nick, bye." She ended.
Nick and Asia had been at each other's throat for over a decade and it made her happy that despite him and the boys being larger than life superstars, nothing changed between them.

On Friday evening, Asia carefully prepared the soul food that Nick requested. She had just removed the macaroni and cheese from the oven when the doorbell rang. She opened the door, and there stood Kirsnick with his arms open wide, beaming at her with a bright 100 kilowatt smile. He was wearing a black leather jacket and jeans with his long locs freely draping over his shoulders. Without his signature sunglasses on, his big beautiful eyes shined like stars, sparking an unfamiliar fire in Asia's heart. Nick was always handsome, but their time apart must have blurred her memory because he looked especially dashing to her that night.
"Nick, you're like an hour late!" She said, rolling her eyes and then smiling playfully at him. His face crumpled with a look of fake confusion.
"Aye, what typa establishment is dis where dey got an attitude wit cha at tha doe?" He joked.
"Excuse me. Mr. Ball, even though you're over 60 minutes late, your reservation still stands. Please, do come in Sir." She amused him in a mock British accent.
"Ah, you still on dat bullshit, I see!" He chuckled. "I'm glad to see you doe Asia! I missed ya lil big head ass!" He teased while pulling her into a deep bear hug and lifting her feet off the ground.
"Ahhhh, ok!" She giggled. "I missed you too, that's enough! Put me down!" She begged.
"You got it smellin' good up in here." He said after landing her back on her feet.
"Thanks, and make sure you tip the chef and the server, which is me. I take cash, cashapp, all major credit cards, checks, and money orders." Asia smirked at him as she struggled to hold in a laugh.
