SAHARA CAPITAL

"Some of the clan's Alphas are arriving now at the border, My King," Beta Sabir reported.

"Make sure that they are welcomed to the capital accordingly. This is the first time in a long while that we have had a gathering like this. I want this celebration to be successful no matter what," King Abdul said.

"The dwellings for all twelve clan Alphas were already prepared, same with their companions," Beta Sabir informed the king.

"Good, I don't want any untoward incidents to happen during these festivities. We are hoping it will be a success. Tighten the security on all our borders, make sure that we have enough warriors to patrol and control peace and order in the capital and the whole of Sahara," King Abdul ordered.

"It is done, my King, Effendi Raj, was making sure of it," Beta Sabir said.

"I don't know, Sabir. For a long time, I wasn't able to face these Alphas. I know, I've never been a good king to them. After the war, I stopped visiting and checking the faraway clans. Even the one that is nearest to us," King Abdul sighed. His eyes drooped as if he was about to cry. But suddenly he gave out a chuckle. A chuckle without life, it seems that it was forced out. "Old age is taking a toll on me, I am getting too emotional."

Beta Sabir didn't answer. He just remained silent while listening to the king's monologue. He knew that the king didn't need his opinion, just an ear to listen.

"How about the newcomer?" Suddenly, King Abdul remembered the one person that could cause chaos at the upcoming celebration. He saw Beta Sabir's demeanor change upon hearing him ask about the newcomer.

"What do you want me to do with her, my King?" Beta Sabir inquired.

"Is her training and schooling about our kingdom going well? I don't want her to bump into one of our guests and have them identify that she came from an unknown land. She may be harmless, but the other clans can use her against us once they learn of it," King Abdul said worriedly.

"I can't answer that yet, my King. But may I suggest that we should put her temporarily away from the capital until the guests leave or at least until the festivities end?" Beta Sabir suggested.

"I am not allowing that to happen, Uncle," Prince Badr, intervened. Bursting into the throne room after spending a few days away from the palace, making arrangements and visiting the dwellings where the arriving alphas would be housed. Making sure that they are comfortable in any way, and letting them know that they are truly welcome in the Sahara.

"You came back," King Abdul greeted his son. Prince Badr went straight to where his father was seated. He kissed both sides of his father's cheeks in greeting, and kissed his knuckles too, before bowing down before him.

"I'm back, Father," Prince Badr greeted.

"How was your journey?" King Abdul asked.

"All is well, Father. Ten clans have already reached our border. In three days they will arrive here in the capital," Prince Badr reported. "So what is it about the newcomer? Why do you want her to be sent away, Uncle?"

"You should see it for yourself, my Prince," Beta Sabir answered.

"Good suggestion, where is she right now?" Prince Badr asked.

"She was supposed to have a lesson with Aminah," Beta Sabir said.

"I should check on her then," Prince Badr declared. He then kissed his father's hand, and he bowed again to the king before he took his leave. He didn't wait to be dismissed or for either of them to bid him goodbye. When he finally got out of the throne room, he immediately quickened his pace. He could not explain it but it was as if he was too excited to see the strange woman again.
