Farah's lifeless body sprawled in the sand. Ashraf gave her one last disgusted look before he stood up.

"Well that was interesting," he heard Shaka say.

Ashraf shot a deathly glare at Shaka. "Chill man. I am not your enemy here. We were watching your back though," Shaka said to him with a lopsided grin.

"You wipe that smirk off of your face or I will wipe it off with my fist," he threatened Shaka. Frey snorted, and Ashraf's eyes shot to Frey. Frey held up his hand in surrender.

"Let's clean this mess," Ashraf said to both men.

"C'mon let's leave them to the vultures or hyenas. They will be grateful they will have food for the night," Shaka protested.

"Huh! Useless whiny wolf. Go and put your tail between your legs and sit down on that rock. That is what you are good at. You are no warrior," Ashraf mocked Shaka.

Insulted, Shaka growled at him, baring his teeth. Ashraf's eyes shifted color and growled back at Shaka.

"What is going on here?" Alpha Allister's voice boomed at them, using his alpha tone. Shaka and Frey shivered, then fell on their knees and bowed to their alpha while baring their necks in submission to him.

Ashraf just casually looked in Alpha Allister's direction then bent one knee and bowed to his alpha and slightly bared his neck.

"This isn't a time or a place to play. You all clean this mess up, bury the bodies so no travelers can find this massacre," Alpha Allister commanded the remaining warriors with him.

"Yes, Alpha." the warriors answered in unison.

"Ashraf, come with me," Alpha Allister called him. He nodded, and they both walked a small distance away from the group. "Did you learn anything?" Alpha Allister asked.

"The woman was crazy like a disperser should be," he answered disgustedly.

"So what did she say?" Alpha Allister started.

"She was just mumbling nonsense that I can't make sense of. She called me half-ling more than once. I don't know the meaning or why. She was mumbling about a curse and doom to our kind," he said while his brow creased in deep thought.

"She was talking about a curse and doom?" Alpha Allister questioned.

"Yes, Alpha," Ashraf answered. The words of the disperser woman kept replaying in his mind over and over again, consuming his attention. He didn't notice the gloom that clouded Alpha Allister's demeanor.

"We should hasten our pace now. We need to reach the border before dawn. I need to speak to the council and the king immediately," Alpha Allister said to him. "We should go back now, and I will inform the warriors," the alpha added.

Ashraf was left wondering about the sudden change of plan. "Was he that worried about the inflation of the dispersers inside the Kingdom?" he thought, while he followed their alpha, back to where the warriors were.

SAHARA CAPITAL...

Eleanor was pacing back and forth inside her chamber. The event that happened at the banquet still lingers in her mind. The announcement of the king was so sudden, that even Prince Badr was taken aback. She saw how Lady Lina smiled at her mockingly and triumphantly, and she doesn't like it a bit.

"Why am I getting so worked up, because of what happened?" she said loudly. She jumped on the bed and buried her face in the pillow and screamed. Eleanor screamed and screamed until her throat ached and her mouth became dry. "Ugh! Why am I feeling this way? He isn't even my boyfriend. We don't have any romantic relationship, why oh why I am feeling distressed thinking of him getting married to another girl," she said, sighing deeply.
