She was back in that place again, the moment she opened her eyes and saw the beautiful scenery before her, she knew it was the same place. The paradise in the middle of the desert. 'Am I dreaming?' she thought.
"Hello child," a melodious voice startled her. Eleanor's gaze swept her surroundings, but she couldn't see anyone, except the wolf sitting at the top of the highest rock near the pond. This time she was certain it was a wolf because she could see it now fully, unlike the first time she had seen only a silhouette. She looked intently at the wolf, and the wolf seemed to grin at her.
"Are you the one who has been speaking to me this whole time?" she asked the wolf.
"Finally, you've noticed me," the melodious voice said. Eleanor saw the wolf stand up leisurely, stretching its front and rear paws. When it was fully standing up, she couldn't help but stare at it in awe.
The wolf was majestic. Its pearly-gray-colored fur was shining under the rays of the setting sun. The white line that started from its head up to the tip of its tail was distinguishable because it was white as snow, and it was huge.
"You were the one who spoke to me before. I've been here before, right?" Eleanor asked, looking at the wolf as it descended from the rock. Asking for confirmation. Funny, she didn't feel afraid of it, instead, she felt like she was connected to the wolf.
"I am glad that you remembered. I was worried you may have forgotten about it because I manifested in you the first time during your near-death accident," the melodious voice of the wolf said to her.
"So, am I in a near-death situation right now?" Eleanor asks the wolf, and panic was starting to arise in her.
"Relax my child. You are safe. The first time that I manifested in you in that situation was because you were blocked, and I couldn't make a connection with you. But now it is different," the wolf said to her with a slight chuckle.
Eleanor couldn't help but let out a deep sigh when she heard she was safe. Relieved she wasn't in a near-death situation, "Where am I then? What is this place called? And how am I able to talk to you? What do you need from me?" she asked, bombarding the wolf with her questions.
The wolf let out another slight chuckle, "All your questions will be answered in due time, my child," the wolf answered. "If you will just open your eyes to your capabilities and accept your destiny wholeheartedly, the answer will come to you sooner."
"What do you mean?" Eleanor's brow creased with confusion as she looked at the wolf. It was now standing right in front of her. Towering over her with its huge size. When their eyes locked, its silver eyes glowed, and then Eleanor felt them become one.
"All in due time, my child," she heard the wolf say to her.
Eleanor woke up with a jolt. Confused, she slowly took in her surroundings. When she was sure she was in her chamber, she let out a sigh, "Argh! It's just a dream. But it felt so real," she exclaimed. It felt like her dream was still imbibed in her mind. She felt like she could still hear the melodious voice of the wolf in her head, "All in due time..." she heard it say, like a whisper in the air. The place and the wolf. It seemed so real to her. She felt like the place was known to her and the wolf seemed familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it. It seemed like it was more than just a dream.
Eleanor was pulled out of her thoughts by a movement in the shadows. "Who's there?" she asked. Squinting her eyes to see in the dark, for it was still the middle of the night, and all her lamps were off except the one that was near her bed.
"Who are you?" she asked again, adjusting her eyes to see in the dark. She saw a beautiful woman standing in the corner, near the window.
"Interesting," the woman said. "I was right from the start about what I felt about you. You are no ordinary human," the woman added.
