"So, for this to work..."

Eleanor could hear Shafi talking to her, but she wasn't paying attention. Her mind was elsewhere, the scene of an earlier event in her room was replaying in her mind over and over again. She could still hear Shafi's voice, but Eleanor couldn't understand a thing he was saying. The excitement in Shafi's voice was drowned by her thoughts, it was fading in the background as her mind wandered to what had transpired earlier.

Eleanor was in the middle of a sandy desert. She was just wearing a thin white camisole dress. The sun was high up in the sky, but she didn't feel it burning her skin. Even when she looked down at her feet, she couldn't feel the heat radiating from the sand. She was barefoot, and the sand under her feet was so fine that it tingled her soles. There was a mini oasis not far from where she was. When she looked up at the sky, there was a rainbow that could be seen above the oasis. It seemed like it was guiding a traveler to the oasis whenever they would see it. She walked towards it, but as she stepped forward, she started to float. An unknown force was sucking her in and making her levitate. She could feel it on her skin, there was unknown magic in this place. Being sucked by the unknown force, she flew her way inside the oasis. As her feet touched the ground, a blast of light engulfed her.

Eleanor closed her eyes; the light was too bright for her to take. After a few seconds of waiting for what was going to happen next, she slowly opened her eyes to peek. Opening her eyes, a beautiful scene welcomed her. There were several trees with vines growing there. She couldn't recognize the trees, the grass, or the wildflowers that were growing near the pond of water in the middle of the oasis. Some birds were flying above but as she looked behind the trees, she couldn't see the desert.

The oasis seemed small from where she was before, but now that she was standing inside of it, she realized it was huge. A paradise in the middle of the desert. 'Why am I here?' she thought to herself. Her feet walked towards the water. It was crystal clear; she could almost see the stones and some aquatic plants that lived down there at the bottom of the pond. From time-to-time Eleanor could see some fish swimming in there. She tried the water, and it was cool to touch. It seemed like it was inviting her to take a swim. Her body seemed to have a mind of her own, before she knew it, she was in the pond and enjoying the water.

Eleanor felt like a child having fun playing with the water. She tried chasing some fish and laughed when she almost caught one. Almost, but not quite, since it would slip away from her hand and swim fast into the deepest part of the pond before fading away from her sight.

"I see you are having fun, my dear," a melodious voice from nowhere startled her. She stopped playing in the water and looked at her surroundings. Her eyes scanned the whole area in search of the owner of the voice. Eleanor couldn't see anyone except herself. Her brow creased in wonder, and as she was about to forget it, she heard it again. This time it was chuckling.

Eleanor once again stopped, then searched for the owner of the voice. Once again, she swept the whole place. "Perhaps if you stopped looking with your eyes, you could see what you seek," the melodious voice said.

Eleanor was certain it was speaking to her, and oddly enough, she didn't feel scared of the voice. Instead, she felt a warmth inside of her.

"Who are you? Why are you hiding? Show yourself to me," she demanded.

The melodious voice chuckled once again. "I am not hiding, my dear. I am in plain sight. You can see me if you are willing to see me. Perhaps if you stop looking with your eyes, you could see what you seek," the melodious voice repeated.
