CHAPTER 11

Ace's Santos Pov

Chloe and i are currently in the study room, i am working and she is doing her homework. I just got a resignation email from Ingrid after reading through my emails. How comes she resigns? Is it because of what happened today at the restaurant? Just when i was thinking about it, my daughter's concerned voice brings me out of my thoughts.

"Daddy, you look sad. What is the matter?" She looks very concerned that it breaks my heart.

I smile at her instead and shake my head no. I raffle her hair making her giggle.

"Daddy is not sad, he is just wearing a serious face. Work mode face." She shrugs.

"You normally wear that face at work?." She asks curiously. I chuckle and nod a yes.

"Woah, your employees must be so scared of you." She reasons out making me laugh this time.

"Honey, if you want to succeed in life, you have to be serious and strict." She nods in understanding.

"Mhhh." She nods. "I want to be like you daddy. A lady boss." I smile. She surely will be one. She is my heir after all. I pull her closer to me and kiss her forehead.

"Of course my princess, you will be the greatest boss." She giggles.

We are now having dinner when my phone rings. I check on the caller id and its one of my guys who i asked to investigate on Dr. Anna. I excuse

Myself from Chloe and go out of her earshot.

"What? I knew something was off. Alright, you know what to do. I will meet you there later."

Angrily, i cut off the call and walk back to the dining table. I find Chloe feeding her cat pet, just watching her like that makes me smile. She always gives me joy. However, she reminds me of her mom every time i look at her.

"Daddy has an emergency to take care off princess." I tell her the moment i come to her view.

She pouts and my heart breaks.

"Okay." She replies. "Please take care daddy" she speaks in an authoritative tone. I smirk shaking my head before pulling her to a hug and a kiss.

I arrive at the secluded house where Dr. Anna has been held captive. Yes, i ordered for her to capture because i need answers.

"Please let me go. I haven't done anything wrong." I can hear screams the moment i enter. The guards greet me and lead me to her.

"You could have at least tie her mouth too. She is too loud." I tell one of the guards. He seems to have forgotten that.

I open the door revealing Dr. Anna tied up on a chair. Her eyes meet mine.

"Mr. Santos?" She says sounding very scared. I smirk approaching her.

"Please don't hurt me, i have a family to take care off, please just don't..."

"I only need to know what the hell is going on. Why isn't my mom getting better?" I snap yell at her.

She seems scared after hearing my question. Fear creeps in her eyes and she averts her gaze from me.

"We can always do this the hard way you know?" I say calmly taking a seat on one of the chairs in the room.

Silence again. This woman is getting on my damn nerves. My jaw tenses, she has no idea what i can do. I just don't want to get my hands dirty.

"I guess, its play time." I announce standing up. Her breathe gets hitched as she watches me in fear. At the same time, one of my man comes in with torturing tools. I signaled him to go ahead.
