Ace's Santos pov
Amber and I are on our way back home when I get a call from Connor. I asked to Connor to oversee everything at the hospital in discrete. He has connections with the doctor in charge of Ingrid's condition. I don't know how Connor does it, but he has his ways of getting jobs done.
I answer the phone on loudspeaker since there is nothing to hide from Amber now that she knows everything going on.
"Yes Connor." I reply hoping for good news.
"Sir, there is a problem. The patient needs blood transfusion as soon as possible within 24 hours. All the blood available here aren't compatible with hers." What? I tighten my grip on the steering wheel. Amber puts her hand on mine making me calm down.
"What's her blood type?" Amber asks Connor through the phone.
"According to the doctor, its blood O negative, I had him test mine and still not compatible." I heave a deep sigh, what the fuck? I don't even have that type of blood, I know my blood type is AB.
I look at Amber she gives me a sympathetic glare, I tell Connor to try find any donor if he can and I cut off the phone call.
"I can't believe this, just when I had the hopes she would survive." I say with sting pain in my heart.
"She will be fine..." I give her a confused stare.
"You sound so sure." She nods.
"I know so... I feel it, Ingrid is such a strong woman, and she can't die yet, you two have a lot to uncover." She states confidently. I smile at her, she always had ways of making me feel better no matter how absurd the situation is.
I wake up early in the morning and freshen up when I come from the shower, find a few miscalls from him. I quickly call him right away.
"Yes Connor..." I answer the phone.
"Boss, an anonymous donor donated blood for the patient." I feel relieved but curious at the same time.
"Really? Any idea who did it?" I ask hoping he will at least tell me, but he claims to have no clue since the doctor strictly didn't share any info. Something about hospital privacy policy and stuff. I am just glad; Ingrid will be okay. I can't contain my happiness; I smile feeling good.
I go downstairs only to find Chloe ready to go to school, I smile upon seeing her packing her textbooks in her bag. As soon as she notices me, she squeals and ran to me.
"Hey daddy, good morning." She says as I scoop her in my arms.
"Hey sweetie, good morning." I give her a kiss on her cheeks and forehead making her giggle softly.
After having breakfast together, I take her to school, and I decide to go to the hospital to at least try and see if I can get to talk to Melon.
3RD PERSON POV
"I am sorry I can't disclose the donor's information. But rest be assured the blood is tested and compatible with hers, it's a good thing it came on time. We have already transfused the patient with the blood. Her condition is slightly better than before, in few hours, you may be allowed to see her." They all nod at the doctor.
"Thank God." Ashton smiles hearing the good news and so does Melon. They have been sick worried about the blood issue until now.
"You have to go home and rest uncle." Melon tells Ashton. She has been asking him since yesterday that he can go home and rest while she looks after Ingrid, but he refused.
"Until I see my daughter, I don't think I can go." He says and takes a sit at the bench. Then he looks at Melon, "Whom do you think could be the donor?"
"I don't know ..." Melon shrugs.
"Oh, could it be ..." Ashton thinks.
"Ace?" Melon butts in making Ashton glare at her murderously.
"That bastard..." Ashton curses. Melons shakes her head and stands up.
"I will get us coffee." Melon excuses herself, leaving Ashton alone.
On her way to the café, Ace sees her and runs after her catching her off-guard.
"Ace? What are you doing here, I don't want to see you." She yells at him. Ace covers her mouth and drag her to a nearby lobby.
"Are you the one who donated blood for Ingrid? Of course, it's you, your presence explains it anyways." Melons states rolling her eyes before folding her arms around her chest as she glares at Ace demanding for explanation.
"I didn't donate blood for Ingrid, my blood isn't compatible with hers, I wish I could. I would do anything to keep her alive." Melons sighs.
"Whatever then who did it?" she asks Ace. Ace shakes his head. "I honestly have no idea."
"I did it." They all turn to the person who just spoke only to meet Amber standing behind them.
"Amber?" Ace states, while Melon remains dumbfounded.
"Why did you do that?" Melon asks her confused.
"When I heard the type of blood she needed, I knew I had the same blood, and I did it to make it up for what my father did to her. Look Melon, my father did a lot of bad things that I am not proud of and up to date, I live clearing my name. I also hope you forgive Ace for everything; my father framed him, and I believe you know that already. Chloe would love to get to know you all, she is a lovely kid." Amber smiles after finishing her last words leaving the speechless.
Amber is about to leave when she hears Melon speaks behind her "Thank you so much Amber." Melon's voice is sincere and genuine that makes Amber turn back and smile at her. Melon walks towards Amber and embraces her to a tight hug. As they hug, Amber shifts her gaze to Ace and Ace mouths to her a thank you.
A few days later, Ingrid's condition is much better, and all her family managed to see her. She has been shifted from ICU to a normal wardroom but still under oxygen mask, anytime she may wake up according to the doctor.
"Are you sure she will like me?" Melons asks Ace nervously but yet curious when they are outside Ace's Mansion. Ace nods assuring at her "She will love you." With that he presses the scanner on the door leading to the mansion before the opens up. Melon is wowed by the interiors of the mansion; she smiles feeling homey.
The maid come and offer her some juice, she looks around nervously before she hears footstep from the stairs. The moment she sets her eyes on the person coming down there, she can't help but smile at the little beautiful girl. Finally, she gets to see her.
On the other hand, Amber is at the cemetery, she had to go and say some words of farewell to her father and put a few bunches of black roses. She thought black roses would suit her late father's cruel personality.
"Black was his favorite color." Just when she finishes doing her business, she hears a familiar voice. Now way, it can't be his voice, she hopes. She quickly turns to face the man whom she never expected to see her after 5 years.
"Mariano?" She utters with shock, her mouth agape, her eyes widened up.
