Chapter 13.

(P/N= Palisman Name)

You actually got some sleep last night to your surprise. And after you woke up and got changed, your palisman flew over to you and landed in your shoulder.

You smiled and stroked it's neck, before going down stairs for breakfast. Eda, King, and Luz were in the kitchen as Lilith talked to Hooty in the living room.

"Morning Y/N- why do you have a miniature griffin on your shoulder?" Eda asked.

"Wait, what?" Luz turned towards you.

"Surprise everyone! I have a new palisman apparently, so yayyy!" You smiled and the griffin palisman flew off your shoulder and onto the table.

"OH DIOS MÍO, HE'S ADORABLEEE!" Luz exclaimed with such happiness it made you laugh.

King just glared at it though, as if the palisman was planning it's next world domination or something.

"Where did he come from?" Lilith asked.

You explained what happened, except for the part where you talked with Hunter, to the other four. The palisman squawked at Luz, which then made Luz fall over.

"What's his name?" Eda asked as she helped Luz up. "I don't know actually...." You replied and the palisman flew back onto your shoulder.

Then it squawked at you. It sounded normal at first but then you realized something.

You just understood what it said.  It squawked at you again which was just repeating itself basically.

"P/N? Is that what you said?" It nodded.

"Why can I understand what he's saying?" You looked back to the others.

"Oh, that's normal. When you get a palisman, you form a bond and create telepathy between each other." Eda answered.

"Okay then. That's cool." You shrugged and smiled as the griffin nuzzled into your neck. "It's weird I have two staffs now though."

"What? I thought that weird Golden Guard stole your staff a few days ago." You immediately felt your face turn red.

"OH yeah. About that, it uh, it just....appeared in my bedroom last night! That's exactly what happened." You laughed nervously.

"It's not damaged or anything though, maybe it was just weird magic or something."

"Well, I don't trust your staff Y/N. After all, the Emperor's Coven made it, then stole it, and now it's suddenly back in your room?" Eda raised an eyebrow.

You haven't really thought about it but that did sound very inconvenient. Not only the lie, but what actually happened.

The Emperor gave you your staff which was one of the only things that helped your magic, then Hunter stole it, and now all of the sudden he gives the staff back? Could you really trust him?

You just shook your head. "It's probably just a coincidence. Besides, we have more important stuff to worry about."

"Well, alright then." Eda shrugged.

You went back into your room after breakfast and decided to see if the staff was really good or not by using it. You went outside and placed a target in front of you. To your surprise, P/N followed you outside and watched.

"Okay, possibly evil Emperor staff, let's see what you can do." You said as you twirled it around in front of you before blasting a laser at the target.

It was....normal. The laser had hit directly where you wanted it to be and nothing changed about how it worked or anything. You held it in front of you and examined it to be positive for no changes.
