Chapter 15.

It was the end of the day after Hunter asked you out and you and Luz finished eating dinner a hour ago. Now the sun had almost completely set.

You grabbed your staff and were just about to go outside when a voice stopped you in your tracks.

"Hey, where are you going?" You turn around to see Luz.

"On a walk." You said vaguely.

"Oh okay then. 'Night, Y/N." Luz said.

"'Night, Luz." You said as she went upstairs to her room. You went back outside and just as you were about teleport something stopped you.

"HI Y/N!" Hooty's face popped up in front of yours and you fell backwards in shock.

"Hi, Hooty." You sigh. "I'm going on a walk."

Hooty's weird neck thing expanded. "Reeeeeeeaaaaaaaalllllllyyyyyyyyyy?"

"Uh, yep! I just like taking very long walks alone....in the dark."

"But I thought you were GOING ON A DATE WITH H-" Hooty spoke a bit too loudly and you quickly shushed him.

"SHHH! No one else needs to know that- wait how did you know?"

"Weeeellll I heard you guys and saw you two in a clearing."

"Dammit, Hooty- Okay, just don't tell Eda or Lilith. And especially not Luz."

"Why would I tell them when you two when you guys are EACH OTHERS' DESTINY-"

"Okay, goodbye now!" You quickly teleported to the clearing with a sigh of relief. Hunter was leaning against a tree.

"Hey, Hunter."

"Oh, thank the Titan, I thought you weren't going to show up for a second!" He walked over to you and sighed in relief.

"Of course I was going to show up, you idiot!" You laugh as you elbowed Hunter and he laughed too.

"So what are we going to do?" You ask.

"You're going to need a blindfold."

"Why?...." You ask.

"Because it's a surprise, obviously." He rolled his eyes playfully.

"Okay, fine." You chuckle.

Hunter walked behind you and put on the blindfold. You heard Hunter grab his staff then he grabbed your hand before you felt the ground shift under you as you both teleported.

Hunter let go of your hand and took off the blindfold. Your jaw dropped.

You both were now standing in front of the same lake from grom. There were new flowerbeds of all kinds planted along the edges of the trees and lake.

Small orbs floated above the lake and there were no clouds in the sky so you could see all of the stars.

You were speechless. This was probably one of the most beautiful places you've ever seen.

"It's the same place where we revealed our faces to each other at grom. I- uh thought it would be good for a first date I guess...."

When you didn't respond his voice quickly changed to a panicked one.

"I- I knew it was stupid! I'm so sorry. I just thought it would be nice but now I that we're here I realized I'm absolute idiot!" He laughed in a sort of crazed way and ran a hand through his hair.

You turn to face him. "What are you talking about, Hunter? It's absolutely beautiful."

He turned to you and his eyes widened in surprise. "Really?"

"Really." You reply and then without thinking you pecked him on the cheek. You pulled away and saw Hunter's face turn completely red.

"Titan, I'm so sorry! Was that the wrong thing to do? I just thought I should do it- Wow, I really didn't think that through-"

Hunter grabbed your hands. "It's okay, Y/N! I just uh- didn't expect that." He laughed and you laughed as well.

Hunter then led you towards a picnic blanket, under the same tree you guys sat under during grom. He let go your hands and you both sat down together.

"I got cake!" He turned around and when he turned back towards you, with a plate that had a slice of F/C/F (Favorite Cake Flavor) cake in his hand.

"F/C/F? That's my favorite flavor, how did you know!?" You asked as he handed you the plate and grabbed his own plate.

"I have my ways." He smirked and you took a bite with your fork.

"Mmm so good." You said and then took another bite.

"Mhm!" Hunter said through a mouthful of cake.

After you both finished, you set your plates aside and took in the beautiful scenery around you two.

"This is honestly the greatest thing anyone's done for me. I've never really had any real crushes before so I never been on a date...." You rubbed your neck.

"I've never had any crushes either." He admitted.

"So this is a first for both of us then?" He nodded. You rested your head on his shoulder and he interlocked his fingers with yours.

"I still can't believe you did all of this though."

"Eh, it's nothing really. I just wanted to show that I care about you a lot so...."

"I care a lot about you too." You both didn't speak for a moment and just took in each other's presence. But then you spoke up.

"So are we boyfriend and girlfriend now?" You ask.

"Definitely." He said. Then before you knew it, you found yourself drifting off to sleep.

Hunter's POV

Hunter nudged Y/N gently with his shoulder before realizing she was asleep. He sighed with a smile.

'She looks so peaceful when she's asleep.' Hunter thought to himself.

Carefully without waking Y/N up, he took her off his shoulder and got up. He grabbed his staff and when he turned back to her, palisman was off her staff and watching was him.

Hunter stepped back cautiously and raised his own staff, but the palisman just titled its head innocently. Hunter lowered his staff after seeing it was not a threat.

To his surprise, the palisman flew over to Hunter and landed on his shoulder, nuzzling his neck. He recoiled at first but then sighed and stroked its beak.

"You know, maybe you aren't so bad." He said and the palisman chirped happily at him.

Hunter then turned Y/N, kneeling down and grabbed her hand with his free hand. He teleported both of them to her room.

He gently picked her up and tucked her into bed, her palisman flying from his shoulder to Y/N.

"Goodnight, Y/N." He whispered before teleporting to the castle.
