Chapter 16.

You woke up, got changed, and grabbed your staff before going downstairs for breakfast where you saw Luz and Eda.

"Hey kid, wanna come with us to get Luz's palisman?" Eda asked.

"Alright." You replied.

You three fly over to the grudgby and you hid behind the tree to watch. All of the other students got palisman before Luz went up to the palismen.

When a palisman didn't choose Luz after she expressed her wish, everyone started putting her on the spot and you felt bad for her.

You guys then went back home and you listened to Luz as she ranted to you and the echo mouse.

"I stayed here because I wanted to learn magic, right? I wanted to be a witch like Eda and Azura! But what does that even mean? And I read stories like this. The main character always has to return home, and what? Did I expect to be a witch back in Connecticut?!"

You didn't really know what Connecticut was so you just shrugged. Luz pressed her face against the glass of the echo mouse's terrarium, before she groaned and laid back down.

"Mmm. Yeah, I wouldn't want to be my palisman either."

"Luz, don't beat your self up over this. You'll figure everything out eventually-" Suddenly you're interrupted by chirping. You look over at Luz's bag and a red cardinal palisman hops out.

"It's him! Did he come here for me?" The palisman just hopped around while chirping. "No. Of course not."

She picked up the palisman and threw on her cape. "Y/N, wanna come get this little guy back to his nest?"

"I got nothing else better to do, sure." You followed Luz outside after P/N flew over to your shoulder.

You and Luz made it to the grudgby field and there's a force field protecting the nest but when the palisman touched it, it disappeared.

"Ooh, palisman powers!" Luz whispered.

"Neat." You added and Luz goes into the nest. "Alright Y/N, I'm not leaving here until I figure out what my future is and one of these guys becomes my palisman!"

"What? Luz, are you serious?"

"Yep!" She smiled.

"Okay fine, I guess I'll stay here with you then." You said as you crawled in next to her.

P/N then flew down from your shoulder and chirped at the other palismen. While Luz listed all of the possibilities of what her future could hold, you fell asleep quickly.

You woke up from a tremble under you and rubbed your eyes. Luz opened the door of the nest. "Hey! We're a little busy in- HERE!?"

You saw that the nest is now being lifted up from the ground and a airship was carrying it.

"I think we're being kidnapped!" Luz turned to you and the palismen. The palismen shivered in fear as P/N flew back onto your shoulder, shielding himself with his wings in fear.

"Don't worry. We'll figure this out." You said. Luz used a planet glyph and you both climb up. Luz goes up while you wait on top of the nest.
