I can't believe I actually told China that I liked her

I can't believe I actually told China that I liked her. This holding it in mess had to stop. We are in the process of destroying the kitchen right now. We are standing in a cloud of flour as we speak.

"When you said you didn't know how to cook, "I was not expecting this." I said this looking at China, who is full of flour from head to toe.

"I'm not sure how the flour ended up on me and not in the bowl." China said, shaking her head at her own actions. I couldn't help but laugh at how ridiculous she looks right now. As she shook her head, flour flew everywhere.

"I have an idea of how, but maybe instead of looking at me, look at the bowl." As China threw more flour on the floor, I smiled and said this.

"I mean, you do make a great distraction." China said, smirking at me. Luckily for me, before the flour disaster, we managed to get most of the food cooked already. China was adorable, trying to act like she understood anything I said to her while we cooked.

"Hmm, is that what I am?" A distraction?" I said, slowing dropping my smile. I wasn't upset, but I wanted to fuck with her head.

"Nope. "Not even close." China continued to brush the flour off herself.

"I think you should probably go change." I was smiling at her and all her overly flour-covered skin.

"Yeah. I think that would be best." China said as she walked to the door frame of the kitchen.

"Ok. I'll see you in a little bit." When China turned around after I spoke, I said and waved. She waved back and proceeded to head to our shared room. I knew it would take her a minute to get all that flour off, so I'm going to work on some dessert. I have a hankering for cheesecake bites. I go to the fridge, and ironically, all the ingredients are there. I also grabbed the raspberries and strawberries for the top. It felt very lonely down there without her here with me. I set the cream cheese on the counter to get it to room temperature. I grab my phone sitting beside me and decide to call Maddie until China gets back. I hit the call button, and Maddie answers on the first ring.

"Jenna, why has it taken so long for you to call me?" Maddie responded immediately.

"Umm, probably because I'm spending time with China." I said it plainly, but I was very happy to be on the phone right now.

"Well obviously she isn't there now because you actually found time to call me." Maddie chuckled as she said this.

"We had a little accident while cooking dinner. She ended up with flour from head to toe. "So she is changing." I said that and opened the oven to check on the food.

"Wait, so it's like a cute date?"Maddie said, but it sounded more like a statement than a question. That made me realize something.

"Oh yeah. I told China I like her." To make sure China didn't hear me, I said lowly. There was silence on the other end of the phone.
