Here we go again

Jenna's POV - 1 week later 

China had gone back to Atlanta to finish shooting the day after she came over, but we have been messaging every day. She even called me multiple times in the last week. Maddie hasn't let me live once since I told her China came by and we kissed. She has been right up my alley about it, and I kind of love it. Maddie is about to come over for movie night, but first she is taking me on an ice cream date as best friends. I get dressed, sit on the couch, and turn on the TV to figure out a movie for us to watch when we get back. I get distracted by my phone ringing and look to see China calling my phone. I was honestly hoping she would call me since I hadn't heard from her since she started work this morning. I answered the phone with a smile on my face, putting it on speaker.

"How are you, love?" China said as soon as I answered the phone. She sounded really exhausted and in need of days of sleep.

"I'm great." "Maddie is about to take me on a best friend date." I responded as I continued to flip through the movies on Netflix. Her sleepy voice was really adorable.

"Oh, really?" "What are ya'll doing?" China said something in a tone I really couldn't read. She honestly sounded a little taken back by my statement.

"Ice cream date." I was confused because China honestly sounded like she didn't like what I said or had just a hint of jealousy. I forgot that I hadn't mentioned Maddie to her before.

"Oh well, I hope you guys have fun." China said, followed by a very loud yawn. I giggled a little because even the yawn was adorable.

"You sound like you need to go to sleep, hun." "You need rest, or you won't make it to see me and be my love interest." I said it in a flirting manner, earning a laugh from China on the other end of the phone.

"Alright fine. I will go to sleep. "Have fun on your... date." The pause caught me off guard, but just as I was about to say something about it, Maddie burst through the door.

"Bitch, are you ready to go?" Maddie said as she walked into the living room. I face-palmed myself and pointed the phone to my ear, signaling for her to shut the hell up. She obviously didn't get the hint.

"Is that China?" Maddie basically screamed at the top of her lungs and launched herself onto the couch beside me. China was laughing on the other end of the phone at the dramatic scream.

"No Maddie it's Beyonce. "Who the hell else would it be?" "It's China, of course," I explained. I mouthed to her to walk somewhere else, and she complied—but not before putting a huge smile on her face just to annoy me.

"She sounds really excited," China says while still laughing at the dramatic interruption.

"She's a scumbag, but she's cool." Anyway, I don't want to keep you awake. "You're flying back out tomorrow, right?" I said I was hoping she would say yes. I really wanted to see her.

"Yeah. especially since the producers are actually making us spend time together. I'll be back in LA by 2:30." I couldn't help but smile at that. China yawned again, and I finally let her off the phone after saying our goodbyes. When I look over in the kitchen, I see Maddie peering through the doorway.

"Bitch, let's go before I change my mind." I stand up, not wanting to hear the China talk at the moment. Before Maddie could respond, I was already headed out the door. She ran behind me to her car and got in.

"So we're just not going to talk about your phone call?" Maddie expressed her displeasure with her refusal to turn on the ignition. I gave her the silent treatment, and she eventually started the car and drove off.

China's POV

I know I told Jenna I was going to sleep, but something is making me not want to. That conversation happened literally two seconds ago, but did I really just get jealous? I'm not sure if I was jealous, but I am certain it was something. I don't like where this is heading at all. First the nerves, then the freezing up, and now jealousy. Something isn't right with this. I have to be back in LA tomorrow for mandatory bonding with Jenna, and these awkward feelings I'm getting are making this harder by the day. Maybe we shouldn't have taken bonding into our own hands.

"SISI!" I yell as I barge into her room. She had been gone for so long that I had really missed her. Her head shoots up, and she smiles at you.

"Baby sis! Oh, I have missed you. "It's crazy that you were right there in LA with me and didn't come to see me." Sisi reached for a hug, and I hugged her tightly.

"Now explain yourself, ma'am, why I saw Lou and Gabe but not you." Sisi spoke as she released me with a disappointed face. I smiled at her, knowing I probably should have visited her before I flew back.

"Well, I got cast in a movie in LA. "So me and my love interest were hanging out," I said, looking over at her. She just raised an eyebrow at me, like Lou had done before.

"Love Interest?" Sisi said she wanted to know who it was.

"Umm, yes, to foster chemistry." I said I was trying to annoy her.

"Who is the love interest, Anne?" "I'm not asking again." Sisi stepped into the big sister role very quickly.

"Jenna Ortega." I said this while rocking back and forth on my toes. The huge smile on my sister's face made me happy.

"So you finally went and did it, huh?" She grabbed me and hugged me tightly.

"Yeah, I'm finally going to try on-screen lesbian dating." "I think it's time to spread my wings." Sisi was squeezing the life out of me.

"Wow sis. I'm so proud of you. "I always knew you liked women."

"Why does everybody in this family think I'm gay?" I mumbled because she was still squeezing me.

"Have you ever looked at yourself?" "I'm certain you have thought about kissing at least one girl in your life." I froze when she said that, and she let go of me and looked into my eyes. I quickly looked away. Sisi caught on almost automatically.

"China Anne McClain, who did you kiss?" I jump off the bed and turn to run towards the door. Sisi grabbed my arm before I could escape. "Answer me, Anne!"

"Okay, okay, okay." It was Jenna. "We kissed while I was at her house, but it was just for practice." I said, pulling her hand off my arm and rubbing the area.

"Mhmm, now was that so hard?" Get out of my room. I'm tired." Sisi said as she laid back on the bed and pulled the cover over her head. I laugh and walk out of her room. I need to take my ass to bed also. Tomorrow I will be seeing Jenna, so I guess... Here we go again.
