China POV
As I watched them rush my wife into the delivery room, I panicked. I have no clue what is even happening. Jenna started bleeding uncontrollably, and that automatically concerned me.
"Mrs. Ortega- McClain, follow us; we are going to have to do an emergency c-section on your wife." The nurse ran behind the others into the delivery room. I couldn't process anything because I was freaking out.
"The baby is crowning; we have to get her out." A nurse said as she ran past me as I walked into the room. The moment I saw Jenna unconcious, looking lifeless, and blood still pouring from her, I almost broke. A nurse noticed and came over to me.
"If this is too much, you can step out and call your family. I promise she and the baby will be okay." The nurse said she touched my shoulder lightly. "You look like you're going to faint."
I started to say something when I felt my phone vibrate in my pocket.
"Yeah, I'll call my family." I said, looking back at Jenna as they were ripping her clothes off. I walked out with tears in my eyes. I grabbed my phone, seeing that Isis was the one who messaged me. I'll get to that in a second. I need to call our families. I swallowed hard as my phone rang in my hand again, this time from my sister. I answered the phone, not trying to panic.
"Umm, where are yall at? We told you we were bringing the baby stuff over while you were home." Sierra said through the phone, and I tried to compose myself.
"Jenna is having an emergency c-section." I said it a little too calmly, and I wanted to slap myself for it.
"Jenna is having a what?" I heard Sierra repeat.
"She started bleeding really bad, and she is about to get an emergency c-section." I said it again, but this time I was nowhere near as calm. I was starting to freak out as I noticed the doctors and nurses walking in and out of the room.
"We are on the way." Sierra said so and hung up the phone immediately. As soon as she did, my mom started calling my phone, probably to ask ten million questions, but I was frozen. I couldn't even take the phone from my ear. The nurse eventually came over to me to tell me that Jenna still hadn't woken up but that her vitals were fine.
"You can come inside if you would like. We are about to give her a C-section. Her and the baby's vitals are both stable." The nurse said that, and I just nodded my head as she guided me back to the room. Jenna was laying there looking like she was just sleeping, now lying in a hospital robe. The nurse pointed to a chair near Jenna for me to sit in. This isn't really happening, is it? The next 20 minutes were a blur because I'm certain I spent them crying my eyes out. I was so concerned until I heard a very loud cry from inside the room. A cry so loud that, ironically, it snapped Jenna back into consciousness to the point she moved some. I sat there confused about what I was supposed to do because I wasn't exactly sure.
"Would you like to cut the umbilical cord?" The nurse looked over at me and smiled, holding the tools to do so. I nodded slowly, getting up and grabbing the tools. As I cut the cord, I could not believe that it didn't hurt the baby. Well, that was until I was handed a bloody baby girl wrapped in a towel that looked just like me. I looked at her as her eyes were wide open. She was just wandering around the room, trying to see what she could see.
"She is only about 6 pounds. And under the circumstances, we want to keep her and Jenna both for observation." The doctor that I had no clue was talking to me this entire time said, "Depending on how things go, we can have them both home in a week or two."
